Default Possible electrical issue during start up?

I have had this problem for a couple of days now. When I put the ignition switch to the on position, all of the lights turn on and off, the needles will do the sweep, the fuel pump primes, and the relays switches, just as it would normally, but once I start the engine it repeats everything again as if it did not do it already. With the engine running there is no check engine light on or other lights that shouldn't be on. I turned off the sweep function and the same things still happen. The engine still runs fine and doesn't seem like anything isn't working, but I am just curious why this started happening, and if it could lead to something more problematic. I have no electrical knowledge, but my only thought is that it could be a grounding issue? Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, or have heard of this happening?

In short, the start up procedure happens twice. First when putting it on 'ON' then when on 'START'.

The only thing I'm thinking of is a loose battery terminal or failing battery. Not much else going on during that part of the starting process.

Thanks for the reply. I double checked my terminals and they were good. No corrosion or looseness, so I got the battery checked at O' Reilly, and it's only making about 150 amps when it supposed to do 530.

It's still the original from Toyota so it's about time to get it replaced. Hopefully this is the source too. I'll give an update once I can actually get a battery.

My car responded very well to a Duralast Gold. Fantastic warranty on them too. Hope that does it.

Walmart's $99 battery has a three-year replacement with additional two-year, pro rated refund. I just replaced one that lasted 10 years.

I was able to get a replacement battery today and everything is working normally. It's just kind of weird to me how the car will react that way, but not have the battery voltage light come on.

Ended up getting the Walmart Everstart Maxx one since my budget is small, and also because Johnson Controls makes both Duralast and Everstart batteries so I don't think there is too much of a difference between them.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Come to think of it, my battery warning light didn't come on with my last dead battery. It will probably come on if your alternator stops delivering a full charge to the battery.

This might be overkill but it will monitor cold battery voltage. It will also indicate whether the alternator is recharging the battery.

I don't see that as overkill. I plan on getting one soon. It will be more useful than that blank button being there.

It isn't a custom fit. The gauge body is ~1/16th" too long and wide. I had to file the gauge body corners and enlarge the switch panel hole to make it fit.
