Default SRI kit recommendations.

Looking into an SRI for my 2013 M/T tC

Are K&N and Injen the most popular 2? Mostly doing it for looks and esthetics and hopefully adding just a "TINY" bit of more performance/sound coupled with the EVO-3 exhaust.

I don't want to do the CAI units because I don't want to even think about messing with the water problems.

Suggestions? Opinions? Pictures?

I like my Injen SRI. It does not make a ton of sound, so if you're wanting to hear it, you won't hear much. My exhaust is quite aggressive though, so it drones almost everything out.

At 4,000+ RPMs is when I hear it. It does make a whistling sound at around 2k-3k in 1-2-3 gears, which is pretty cool.

Personally, I do not like K&N.

I've had an AEM cold air, an injen short ram and now the k &n short ram and i love my k&n. looks nice, has a heat shield which probably helps with some engine heat and sounds aggressive when I put my foot down. Some noticeable gains and its easy to install. The power seems equal to my AEM cold air

Are any of the CAI/SRI kits loud or do they all sound pretty much the same?

most of intake doesn't make that huge difference in sound. majority of sound difference is the exhaust.

the difference is so minimum, after using 2 weeks you will get used to it eventually

CAIs sound different from SRIs.

CAIs all sound roughly the same, while SRIs also all sound roughly the same.

More noise from CAIs.

Your exhaust is what will matter if you want a great sounding car.

depend on the pipe size.

larger pipes = high end power increases
smaller pipes = mid range power increases

Well I'm running the EVO-3 axleback for exhaust sound and liking it so far. Just wanted to free breathe the front end and just get a little bit of sound with the esthetics

I listened to a clip of the Weapon-R SRI and it sounds cool to me. Very noticeable sounding.

Now I'm confused considering the Injen SRI and Weapon-R?

Go with injen. No cel at all, and you'll probably end up liking cai over Sri any day of the week. I bought the injen because I wanted both so when it rains I'd be fine. Turns out that all the horror stories about intakes are due to driver error, or poor intake placement. On the tc it's not as low to the ground as you would think. I've been through some nasty rain, and unavoidable puddles. Just get the hydroshield and you'll be good to go. Also cai isn't obnoxious sounding in the car like Sri is... Just some food for thought

So the SRIs are louder? I like the added effects of sound.

I can get the Injen SRI for about 170 shipped and it looks like the CAI kit is about 250ish. If I know that I'm not going to convert to CAI should't I just save the money and go with the Injen SRI?

So I've narrowed it down to the Injen SRI kit or the Weapon-R SRI.

Opinions on which would sound better?

Go with injen. Quality product, and amsoil Makes the filter. Better filter than weapon r, and injen is made in America. As for your prices, I got my cai for $200 on eBay brand new in the injen box. All I'm saying is don't knock it till you rock it, and for $30 more I could get 2 options instead of limiting myself to 1. If you would like vendor info pm me and I'll look it up for you. It may even save $ on just a Sri kit too

I would go with Injen all the way I have the SRI intake but got the CAI instead. Now I am trust trying to sell the SRI

Well lets be honest any bolt on performance part is not going to do much in terms of horsepower
