Default TC2 6 Speed Manual Rev Hang Fix Specifics?

Hey Folks, finally made an account. Got my TC2 about 6 months ago and it's been a blast. This forum has been super helpful, so thanks first of all.
We all know the rev hang on the TC2 is kinda brutal... At least in my opinion. Anyways, I was just doing some looking, and I came across this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/SciontC/comments/1bmo3i6/eliminating_rev_hang/

"Pretty cool" I thought.
I made a comment there, and there's another thread kinda dedicated to this. However I'm looking to install the switch like the guy did in his TC1, but I'm not 100% sure whether it's the exact same process for the gen 2.
In the gen 1 the speed sensor wire comes off the gauge cluster, and through the firewall to the ECU. Cool, that means easy access to the wire in the dash, and an easy switch install.
I read through the 2AR wiring diagram and it looks like it still connects to the dash, but I'm not sure I'm 100% literate at reading wiring diagrams like this.
I was curious if any of y'all have done this mod, and can confirm this before I dig out the multimeter and start testing myself.
As promised (in my Reddit comment) l'll do my best to take pictures and do a write up for anything I do, as soon as I figure it all out. Just figured I'd ask and see if anyone else has had any success.
On a side note, other than the CEL, disfunctional cruise control/ trac control, are there any long term side effects that any of y'all have noticed as a result of disconnecting the speed sensor?
Thanks in advance Everyone, hope you're all having an amazing weekend!

I don't check this forum often so I didn't see this until now.
For the tC2 it looks like there are two junction connectors in the interior that carry the speed sensor wire (SPD). The manual tC2 has a purple SPD wire that goes from connector C58 in the interior to the ECU, and a light blue one that goes to C59. C58 uses a purple wire at pin 7, and C59 uses a light blue wire at pin 6.

Connectors C58 and C59 are both located in the interior, you'll want to find where this is. It's possible you could disconnect either one and try out the rev hang fix without cutting any wires, depending on what else is routed through the connectors.

Here is connector C58 (C59 looks exactly the same).

From here you should be able to install a switch fairly easily.

After driving my '08 tC1 with the rev hang fix for a while now, there are 3 other things I've noticed.
1) With the rev hang on, if you throw the car into neutral at ~60mph, the revs will drop back down to below 1k, then it'll rev back up to 1500 or so for a little bit. Disabling the rev hang gets rid of this.
2) This is based on where I wired in the switch, but turning the switch off also gets rid of the speed-controlled radio volume. It also interrupted the speed signal going to the AC controls (not sure why they need it), TPMS computer (I disabled it anyway), and sunroof control module. If you only cut the purple wire, you won't have this problem.
3) Disabling the rev hang also makes it a lot easier to rev-match. With it enabled I'd have to slam the pedal way harder to heel-toe.

Hope this helps.
