TRD CAI vs Injen vs Takeda (CAIs)?
I've searched and am stuck on this one. I know that one member (Mr Luv) has gotten solid (~10hp) gains with the TRD. I'm leaning toward that as it's made from the same company, guaranteed not to throw CELs and safer in terms of hydrolock. Also, it seems I wouldn't need a tune for just the intake (although I plan to get a tune after other parts are added). Does anyone else know of significant gains with the TRD? I plan to have headers, s pipe, full cat back, Crank pulley, and a tune (considering unichip or ov if I can get my hands on one). Would I be selling myself short on hp if I get the TRD over the other two? Any insight would be much appreciated! Ideally, I'm looking for more reports of gains with the TRD.
I read up on your posts regarding the TRD in your main thread and in another, and that was the most complete info I was able to find for... Well, anything lol. I was also leaning toward the TRD for safety reasons and having full comfort in terms of compatibility. I ordered it based off of that and your detailed and evidenced posts - thank you!
I was stuck for a while on what to do... I was originally settled on the Takeda due to claims of highest gains, but I saw more people had the injen. I think overall I wanted the comfort of not having to worry about hydrolock as much without having to change things around every time there's a heavy rain, along with no concern over CEL or inspections. If there wasn't a before and after dyno for the TRD, along with the other insurances, I may have ended up with Injen due to it being the more popular pick (and seems to have more reliability than the takeda).
