I would assume you'd want to connect it straight to the battery for a stable source of voltage. Wouldn't hurt to try and see if that's your problem.

The red wire on mine is going to a 10a fuse that's in the engine bay. I'll take a pic of it later to show you.

Glad you got it to work! I'm still having issues with mine. Starts right up but can't figure out why my wipers, door locks, radio, led footwell lights have no power to them. I've checked all the visible fuses that i can actually get to and they are all fine. Have a cousin who's supposed to come by and help me out but in the meantime, any input? He seems to think it may be a relay type of fuse.
Anyway here is the pic i promised regarding the power wire for the FIC.

I haven't tried that yet. Highly unlikely its the harness as it was working before. Nothing has changed besides the new battery. I made the stupid mistake of crossing polarity when i installed the new braille battery. It sparked and i immediately took it off. So when it sparked, thats when i blew some fuses. I'm just not sure which ones i actually blew besides the ones i already mentioned.

That's a big maybe since my car still starts. I would think if the ecu was damaged, it wouldn't start. That's my uneducated guess of course.
