Be more specific? It's consuming coolant?

Unless you have a leak, more than likely it's a head gasket issue forming.

How is it possible a head gasket can have an effect on cooloant. Just curious.

Because engine blocks and heads have coolant "channels" (if you will) machined or cast into them (see the oblong opening above the piston)

There are also channels machined/cast into the assembly for oil circulation. The only thing keeping these fluids from spilling into the cylinder or mixing with each other is the head gasket. Improper installation, age, and/or abuse of the engine can all cause this gasket to fail.

Thanks for responding in my absence.

Not really. Just either poor tuning or choice in fuel. Detonation is the #1 killer of head gaskets.

Supposedly the descendant kits were legal in Cali but I don't know exactly what the differences were.

Their kit was never CARB legal. It's $10K just to apply for the test and you can fail it in the first 15 seconds of performing it.

Ah I stand corrected. I was told that's why I had to use the stock air box or something to that effect.

They where considering applying for the status, but never pursued it to my knowledge. In order to have that approval, something was up with the factory air box (because of the charcoal canister) and the factory cat....They scrapped the idea and the platform to say the least.
