I have a few things to work out but nothing special. As far as how it runs? Not the same car, not even close. Still getting used to being boosted - 2nd gear...pay attention, 3rd gear...lay on it and feel it, 4-6...better by sure no one is taking your picture because you are breaking the law . The power level is exactly what I was looking for out of a DD. Will I look for more? Sure, but not till XMAS. Quick update - Several hundred miles on the car since getting PTuned. No CELs. It's getting 26-30MPG. Will update after next fill-up. The mid-range on this setup is STOUT and indicative of PTunings turbo sizing. It pulls so hard in 4th and 5th to the point where I think I may have some clutch slippage - need to verify after turning off TSC/VSC. For a DD I can't ask for anything more. Need to pass someone? Not an issue - hit it. Cooling fan came on for a couple of seconds after some stop and go traffic at 66 degrees outside. Moved the car 10 feet and the fan shut off. Overall - this setup is killer for a DD. BTW - I did not opt for a fuel pump or clutch - I'm an adult . There is more HP and TQ to be had if you go this way and if you do...get the clutch. Mileage today after 1/4 city and 3/4 tank of highway driving was 28.6MPG. I'm halfway through the next tank and the avg on the meter is 31.4 so I'm thinking I should be around 30+MPG or close to it on the highway. What does this mean...? I've lost .5 - 1 MPG maybe being boosted. In other words I've got over 100HP extra and it costs me little to nothing as a DD. You guys wanna here some crazy chit? The car pulled 33MPG with all hwy driving!!! Now this isn't to say that I never had my foot in it but it was 98% hwy with a couple of "spirited" passes and 3 or 4 city fly-by's. This thing is starting to loosen up and settle in. Hesitations about buying this kit or service from PTuning...? NONE - All first class |
that seems like a more realistic baseline than some other ones out there. btw there is a 2nd get tc fi forum now.

Was it a shop or just an individual? We just want a solid baseline number before product development on the tC2. |

By any chance do you remember what the other baseline number was?

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k3..._5432324_n.jpg Thank you. Wowser! The window sticker on the car only show 180HP. So, we figure 159WHP on our dyno was dead on. |

churches uses dynapack, hub dyno.. i believe gives higher numbers coz pulls are done without the wheels. I've always been curious how it performs using other dynos like this, now i know where its power really stands
|
These numbers seem a lot more realistic.
|
they are... i raced one of those the other day and completely destroyed it... and my car currently isn't even 100% FTL.
|
Deff. watching to see the turbo kit
|
Rob It was awesome to meet you last night at Knott's Scion Night. You showed me around the tC2 towards closing time right before Chris Rado was looking at it. I was the guy with the fro, must have been about 7:15p.
Pretty impressive baseline that you pulled of ~197hp and the setup that you're coming out with is insane! 333hp...sik. Definitely would want a ride in that thing. Keep up the good work! |
Defintly going to be watching this.
And as for the the dyno numbers Ptuning got, i would have to agree with everybody that it seems realistic. although, curious how the other numbers are so hi? Is it really a difference between those two types of dynos? |
