guess i read too deep into it.. moeltc said the honda's were itching for a spanking.. meaning they've been going at it.. So I thought gunnist was saying he is barking up the wrong tree currently and should go fetch a Z06.. but even still.. with the turbo.. u really think the TC could take it?

Yea when I had my 1st Gen I would read alot about how the stock motor seems bullet proof handling up to 14psi in some testaments..
I know 2nd Gen motor is different. But does it have equal limits? I can't answer that one.

I had boost creep issues in my tC2. It would spike to about 13.5 Psi. Even then, no detonation.

This! On a mustang dynamometer during a dyno day, a C5 Z06 made 384 WHP with some bolt-on mods. On that same dyno, I made 365 WHP @ 11.2 Psi, and it was still climbing, then the dump tube melted through a strap and it fell off the dyno. If the car had stayed on for another 3-5 secs, I would've made more power.

Descendant Turbo Kit, however, my setup has a Garrett GTX3076R. The wastegate is a Tial 38mm. We figured out that the creep issues were due to a crappy vacuum line. So, we put in a vacuum manifold and the issue was gone.

Sorry just remembered this post...

I thought this post was for an already boosted TC2. If the TC2 is on boost then it should be beating the honda quite easily if the Honda is all motor. If the honda is turbo then I recant my previous statement.

And about the Z06 if properly tuned with a capable turbo the TC2 should hang or beat a stock Z06Vette on the roll.

Even though the Vette might make more advertised power stock it still depends on how efficient the motor moves the air and a 2.5 engine plus turbo will see Volumetric efficiency of 100%. While the Vette will see maybe 80-90% being a V8.

It has been a while since I have updated this thread.

The DP and FMIC components have turned into quite an adventure for us. But today I have a picture update, on the completed Downpipe.

FMIC pic's will follow.

thanks Drew.
