That isn't a supercharger for that tC, that is a used supercharger sitting on top of his exhaust manifold.

I predict headaches, heat soak, modest horsepower gains and really bad gas mileage...

You are correct, this blower is for a v6, with the correct pully ratios, a modest intercooler and race raidator, upgraded fans, and proper blowoff/wastegate this supercharger will out perform current turbo applications at a much cheaper cost. Fuel efficiency is maintained as long as driven normally. I will be running at 10psi to compare to the most common turbo set-ups. I will use ARP head studs and Arp Main Studs, forged pistons and connecting rods and Copper-alloy pro head gasket.

As for heat soak after shut off, electric auxillary fans can be used on a timer to continue air flow and cooling.

Superchargers..change the size of the pully, change the amount of potential boost.

Turbo kits cost as much as a replacment factory block...doesn't make much sense to me...

If you are patient, have the right friends and a lot of skill you can build anything...

Good luck, but if the supercharger route was really that much cheaper and more efficient, there'd be bolt-on supercharger kits for this car. By the very nature of the supercharger, they aren't as efficient as a turbo, they'll have a nice chunk of parasitic drag.

as for MPG, most cars that use a twin screw supercharger, like the corvette zr1, cadilliac CTS-V and various supercharged mustangs etc, get pretty poor MPG compared to their n/a next tier V8 bretheren.

But go for it dude, your time and your money, I'll be watching for updates.

This is true for turbocharged applications, as well.

What will you be using for tuning?

considering most people WITH a first gen tC can't get a used TRD supercharger to work with their car, I wouldn't consider this even an option. Might as well try to get a supercharger from a corvette zr-1 to work.

Worked fine with my car and my buddies. They were known for failure but if you take care of it do the necessary things to bullet proof it won't have a problem. I got mine for $900 rebuilt the bearings for $30 ran the 12.5 pound pulley no problem

Not saying it is impossible. I had a new supercharger on my tC and when I went turbo I sold it to a happy new owner. granted I had a nearly complete kit for him to use, but still.

It's just so much more affordable buying a used one rebuilding it if it could fit I'd love to do it just don't have the money to blow to buy it and it not work

That looks like a gm 3.8l v6 supercharger.....I'm excited to see how this turns out. You can get those for next to nothing (around here anyway).

Watching for updates!
