2014 Scion tC - Navigation Map Update
Hello!
I have a 2014 Scion tC with the stock navigation installed and was looking to get the system updated. I called the dealer and inquired and they said $300!!!
I asked if I could buy the CD/DVD aftermarket and the tech said no they have to hook up something special (whatever).
Any ideas on how to do this?

There's 3 Ways you can Approach this:
1. Through your Dealership. You need to provide your VIN No. to Parts. You will pay $169 for a Activation Card No. from Toyota.
Their Toyota Technicians will use their OBD II Scan Tool to load it in your car's system at their hourly rate.
i.e. Activation Card No. = $169
My Dealer's Hourly Labor Rate = $142
Total Charge for my 2015 tC Map Update Quote is $311. You can shop various Toyota Dealers to find different labor rates.
2. You can Purchase a Stand Alone GPS unit. I have a Magellan Roadmate GPS from Costco for $169 with Free Lifetime Maps and Road / Traffic Updates.
Similar units like Garmin and Tom-Tom at your factory outlet stores or Best Buy...Sam's Club...Walmart.
3. Use a Smart Phone w/ GPS Nav
