Clock burning out..
Hey guys, I noticed my clock on my 2015 tC going dim and that to the left of the clock is a round burn circle that keeps getting bigger. A new unit is close to 400 dollars, but I did find a repair service through eBay.
Have you guys had this issue and would leaving this assembly unplugged for a week or two throw any codes or mess with anything? Since it has the hazard switch and passenger airbag icons?
Thanks!

I know this is a few months old, but the clock portion of the module can come out of the panel. If you take it apart you will likely find at least 2 somewhat large surface mount resistors.
If you check I bet one or both are starting to come off. Those resistors are for the back light circuit of the LCD. You can try soldering them back on, works 95% of the time for me.
The brown spot is normal-ish and you probably won't see it with the back light working properly.
I've fixed probably 100 of these on older Toyota's, Subaru's, and caravans.
