Default Digital clock in dash permanently dimmed...

Here's a strange problem I just noticed this week: In my 2011 Scion tC, all of a sudden, the digital clock stopped going to full brightness when the headlamps are turned off. All the other dash lights, including the controls on the radio, go back to full brightness when the headlamps are switched off - but not the clock.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, and how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

You tried adjusting your dimmer yet and seeing if it makes a difference?

Yes - I have tried that. No effect. The clock stays the same brightness no matter what I do with headlamps, dimmer, etc.

Bummer. :/ Haven't noticed if mine changes intensity with the lights.

Can you check that for me, just to verify? I'm pretty certain it used to be brighter with the headlamps off.

So.. I guess mine does dim when the lights are switched on. Sucks yours stopped. Must be a resistor or something inside the clock that popped. Hopefully it won't be too expensive to replace. I would think it should come off of the trim panel pretty easily.

EDIT:
Orrrrr nevermind.. it's like $300. wthhhh
