Pic of your car, man I wish I could tint my windows that dark without having the cops hassle me! I have the super white and it really looks good with the darker. tint in your photo!

Is that 20%? That box is a bit big, going to be alot of bass, expect the hatch to rattle, especially when it's hot out.

funny you say that i had no problems and then twice this week i have been pulled over for tint got a ticket from a state trooper and pulled over by a local pd the next day. I will pay my ticket and keep it on there im suppose to take it off. It was 17% to be exact lol.

Check into your local laws. Most states will have a grace zone of +/- 3%. (Mostly because that was the default error margin for the tint meters) Also did the officer clean the area, or ask you to clean the area of window being tested before metering it? Anything that's on the glass such as pollen, dirt or even water spots from rain will effect the tint meters rating.

iowa law states 35% even with a eye doctors note which i have i was at 17% it is a little too much to try and get out of. I got one 8yrs ago on my truck and never took the tint off and have never been pulled over again, now i probably cursed myself. I think alot of it is the vehicle is a sporty car and they think young kid and in my truck they really dont care. by the way im 30

So what's the word man? You get it installed? Don't keep us in suspense lol. I'd like to know what you think of the Pioneer head unit.

the stock head unit puts 300watts, and premium 340 correct? that one you have puts 50x4 correct? so what is better for the speakers?.. Reason I ask is I want the same headunit you just bought. Whats better for overall wattage of the speakers?. pics of it done etc..

I don't think the head unit itself is putting out that much power. Isn't there an outboard amplifier underneath the driver's seat?

Factory amp is 140w if I remember correct, and it only runs the 6x9's in the doors. The 8400bh is 14x4 RMS. I'm using the 4300DVD which is also 14x4 and its more than enough for stock speakers. Pay more attention to RMS numbers than Peak numbers for every day listening.

Head unit power 50x4 usually is rated at 14-22 watts continuous power which is the number your really looking for. With the two rockford subs in the back it's going to be too much bass and you'll drown out the fronts and rears unless you turn the gain on the subs down to match your system. I would highly recommend a separate amp. I'm running a rockford punch 400-4 on the fronts and rears. The fronts are the ones that came with the pioneer premium system, they are 2ohm so the rockford is pushing 75 watts continuous or so to them and the rears I have are hertz 6.5 coaxials 4ohm and those are getting 50 continuous RMS. It's a really good setup and the fronts handle my rockford amp with ZERO issues. No bottoming out and they stay clean to and extremely loud level, I'm seriously impressed with them and I'm finding it hard pressed to spend 350 to get hertz 3 way components up front.

While you have everything apart may as well do the 4 channel amp as well be done!

I did get the pioneer in, the picture quality on the movies is great have not seen the 4400 so not sure how noticeable it is. I have not put the subs and amp in yet got my wires ran but just got busy around the house(honey-do list) I did snap a pic with my phone i will put up more when everything is in. I will say the metra install kit is very generic and will do something later about it but its doing the job of filling in side gaps for now. Overall this is my first bluetooth dvd player I love it i downloaded music videos off youtube and put them on a sd card for the player too. I do have a ipod hooked up the mixtrax i dont like so i just dont use it. The bluetooth works really well i have a louder pipe on my car and can be heard very easily. I do use pandora through my android phone although it is made for iphone, I can not control pandora on the deck have to control on my phone it is different for iphones. The video bypass i used works great put can not watch off of ipod while car is moving im still working on that if it will even work. It did make my factory speakers sound alot better. The deck has a built in high pass crossover which should be nice when i put the subs in. sorry it was long any specific questions i will do my best to answer. hopefully more pics this weekend i am working tomorrow to have friday off so friday the subs and amp should go in.

I am wanting to put my sub box in then go to the dealer and see if they have a cargo cover i can put in my car to see if it will clear my sub box. I assume the cover sits down in the the two grooves. But i dont have one so im not sure.

Kinda like mine? I think I have like 2 or 3 inches to spare before it hits the cover. I just have the basic fabric cover.

Kyle- so it fits great and sounds better? I kind of want to use that same one. But I read crutch field the aux and USB slots on console center will no longer work. Is there anyway to splice USB-aux into the new head unit?..

First off, one ten IMO is perfect for this car. The bass doesn't over power the rest of the cars speakers and the two subs in the doors compliment it perfectly.
As for what we did for the aux and usb, My Aux input is not hooked up at all. We left it there so that the cover could close. For the usb, we got a male to female extension cable and routed it to where the usb jack is in the center console. We replaced the whole cable. So no, the stock usb will not work. However the port is snug enough to fit a replacement cable and hold it in place.
