Hacking the SNS200

Hacking the SNS200
Hey guys,
I need some help from you electrical gurus. I’m a mechanical type and know some electrical. Here is the problem I’d like to solve;
When you start moving in your Gen2 tC, the SNS200 navigation system locks you out of it until you stop again…this is annoying! I know that on the Lexus blogs, they have come up with a procedure (Hack) that includes cutting a wire to disable this lock out…I’d like to do this to ours.
Please help...
Thanks!

Sometimes disabling that lock feature on factory units I've read the odometer stops counting which obviously throws off your car's mileage, something to keep in mind. Won't know until it's done though.

the wire the SNS uses is the speed sensor wire... it's used to detect car motion. it's part of the stereo connectors as the stock headunit uses it for the VSL feature. you can cut it.. but you still need it to use any type of navigation.
what most people have done is install a switch to allow access to the features that would otherwise be locked out while in motion... then switch it back to actually use the navi. the SNS needs to see the speed sensor wire to operate properly. period.
information resource: personal experience, and actually doing it for friends before.

where the hell did you read that?? they're on separate circuits.... odometer getting messed up from hacking your stereo to work while in motion? wow.. someone must have screwed up big time if you read that somewhere.

Which wire is the ASL wire? There is a procedure on this site that shows a blue wire on one of the back connectors but I took mine apart tonight(Scion installed last week) and there is no blue wire? Need this hack bad. Any help would be appreciated. The SNS install manual doesn't appear to mention a speed or ASL wire connection. I know this wire is the key just need to know which one.
