Default How to replace the parking lights and side trunk lights.

hey guys, Im planning to buy some new led bulbs for the parking lights and the trunk lights. The problem is i tried looking under the hood and it looks like its really hard to get to. Anyone know how to replace these parking lights? This is for 2012 scion tc. Also for the trunk lights, I tried using a screwdriver to yank out the cover but i was scared i might break it. Anyone know how to remove those as well? Thanks in advance!
Btw, I tried using the search button. Either i dont know how to exactly use the search button yet or its all first gen tC which is a little different from the tc2. (i think..)

The washer fluid's black clip should be remove to allow for much easier access to that sides bulbs. This can be accomplished by simply taking a pointy edge and sticking it in the center of the clip until it clicks. The pull it out. You can now pivot the tube to allow access to the side marker bulb. The other side should be straight forward as there isn't anything in the way.

Putting the black clip back in can be tricky but the middle section needs to be out a bit and you need to squeeze and hold the stuff that sticks out with your fingers so it can go back into the hole. You will know what I'm talking about once the clip is out. There are certain grooves where they fit comfortably so it can go in

For both sides you just need to turn the whole socket and it comes out. The wiring is a bit short so you need to make sure that the same way you take it out is the same way you put it back in. Otherwise you will have to turn and angle it many different ways until it goes into the hole

As for the trunk. I too had issues with that but haven't had the time to replace that light yet

You mean the cargo area light? If so, yeah it is scary, but pry away and it will come. I have taken mine out at least 3 times, and everytime it seems like it may break but hasn't yet! *crosses fingers*

Thanks for the reply. When you said remove washer fluid clips, does that give me access to the passenger side? Also how does the driver side work? Do I need to remove the bumper to get to the plugs because it seems like its so far down there.. For me, I find it hard to get my hands down there especially because its pretty packed..

You can just stick your hand down there. There isn't much room if you got big hands but bumper removal is not necessary. You will basically be feeling your way with your hand as you can't stick your head to see where it is.

And yes washer fluid clip removal makes it easy to access the passenger side bulbs.

You can do it!!
