Default Ipod Update Error

Hey all, brand new to the threads here. I tried to search around to avoid posting a potentially redundant issue, but haven't found anything that would seem to resolve this problem.

So I pretty much just got home from the dealership with a new '12 TC, and on the way home I tried to connect my iPod to the USB port. When I tried to switch the radio over to the iPod/USD option, the screen says "iPod" and blinks "UPDATE" underneath. I checked my iPod in iTunes and I have the latest software. When the iPod was plugged into the USB port in the car, it was charging so I'm not too sure what the issue is. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Press the center button and the up button on the ipod wheel to reboot your ipod (ipod classic), then reconnect it to the radio again. I have the pioneer premium system and once in awhile I will shut the car off with the radio on which tends to mess up the ipod detection. A reboot of the ipod and reconnect resolves the issue every time. My son has a clarion and his does the same thing once in awhile.

Try a different cable, if that doesn't work then try another ipod. If another cable and another ipod doesn't work then you probably have a head unit with a bad port or other issue and in that case a trip to the dealer get it fixed/replaced under warranty.

When i 1st got mine i had the same problem (ipod touch) and i thought i had the lastest update but just plugged it up to itunes and found out i didnt but every now and then i get the connection error but i think thats due to the cord im using since its a cheap one from walmart and not the white one that came with it, but i just unplug it and plug it back in and it reads it.
