Ordered another Stinger Roadkill bulk pack. Have 2 on the way 72 sq feet. I'll do everything but the doors first and get some more for the doors when I get to them. Thanks for all photo's and input! I'm not looking forward to removing the interior panels and everything, for me that is going to be the worst part. Any tips on the removal? I've seen a few good posts on searching which are helpful. Suppose as some of the plastic clips break I'll take them to the dealership and get replacements... for the reinstall.

 

These tools were a life saver and only $16...we did not brake a single body panel button with them.

The roller was a waste of money...we've tried it a couple times but gave up on it.

We used scissors to cut the Dynamat...but we kept them soaked in acetone...that worked very well.

 

Bought the roller and tools as well, ordered 72 Sq Ft Stinger Roadkill. Will probably order the sound barrier mats to put under the carpet as well.

Looking online I see on the doors alot of people cover the holes where the weather protection plastic is but on your install you didn't, the opening there looks huge and like it would be hard to cover, also wondering why you didn't cover some areas on the inner part even if not covering the hold where the plastic goes... Did just doing the inside of the door facing the outside of the car and not the inner panel work well enough to not worry about it?

 

Sound deadening works best at the source of the sound…in this case, the wind rushing past the outside surface of the car. The whole outside panel of the door is covered with Dynamat…from the bottom of the window opening down to the door sill and from the hinge, to the door latch. Another PITA to get the pieces in there…not to stick until in place…and then to pat them down to stick. One of the photos shows the Dynamat through the plastic.

 

Yep, saw how well you covered the outer door skin through the plastic covering the large hole in the door. I may try putting some around the large hole/plastic weather cover just for added measure and may try to just add foam over the plastic cover to help that as well. We'll see what I'm looking at once the door panel is off... Right now I'm just waiting for the materials and tools to arrive. Hopefully in the next week. I'm sure once I get to the doors I will have to order more.

 

Too bad your not close to the Atlanta area where I could come compare difference between my car in as is now and yours.

Well 1st box of stinger roadkill extreme came in, heavy... Tools and Roller came in. Enough for me to get started on the trunk area anyway. The other box should be in by Friday. Ordered two boxes of Stinger MLV Sound barrier padding as well. Will use it under the carpeted mat in the trunk and under the carpet in floor areas (on top of the roadkill deadening material). Depending on what I see once I take the door panels off may order more and put some there as well. Most of the road noise I hear in the car at highway speeds with the stereo off is coming from behind the front seats in the trunk/rear seat area. So putting the Stinger Roadkill on the doors may be enough without adding the MLV sound barrier mat.

Guess I will start riding around with 1/2 a tank of gas to compensate for the extra weight this stuff is going to add to the car! ; ) Old school drag racing quote... Every 100 lbs is 1/10 of a second in the quarter (not that the TC is anything I would race with). Learned along time ago, if you want to go fast, just buy a sports bike. GSXR-1000! Goal here is fun commuter, good gas mileage, excellent stereo system!
