So long story short I hate paying for labor so I bought my own remote start the PT398-21111 and started to put it in this this morning, But I have run into some issues.


Following the install guide for the 2011+ there is a step where you need to connect a red wire to the 48P connector on the junction box.






My issue is that there is a pink wire already installed in this slot, I tired cutting it and finishing the install, but I couldn't get the lights to flash like they should.


Does anyone know what that wire does either the Red Wire that needs to go to pin 6, or the Pink wire that already there??


UPDATE: The Pink Wire that goes into junction box carries a constant 12v and has to do with your lights coming on when the car is off, dome lights/door sills. Still trying to find out what that red wire does.

i bought the PT398-21111
remote start kit for my 2014 scion tc and it came with the old wiring diagrams and i of course didnt have any luck, so i gave up.
thanks for doing your research and posting the update. i cant wait to try it
