Standard tC2 Audio System
My newish 2012 tC has the standard Pioneer audio system. From everything I've read on-line it should be a pretty good system, but I have a few issues with mine that have left me disappointed.
1) Volume - The volume randomly fluctuates up and down. The setting to increase volume with ambient noise is disabled (and the problem persists when enabled). It also doesn't seem to be related to radio signal strength since it does it even with very strong signals. I've not played CDs to check if it still exists with a CD.
2) Bluetooth microphone - When using my cell phone through the bluetooth connection, everybody complains that they cannot understand me. I have no problem hearing / understanding them. When the bluetooth is disconnected, the sound on the other end of the line is much clearer.
3) Dropping bluetooth - The audio system does a fine job of recognizing my phone when I start the car and will maintain the connection without fault for hours. But, if I make or receive a phone call and talk for more than about 3 minutes, it will drop the connection. The call will still be active and I can continue the conversation via my cell, but the bluetooth connection is broken and will not re-initialize.
Does anyone else have these problems? Can some of these issues be resolved by changing settings? Can I get Scion to fix them? Or must I just accept the situation?

as for the volume, if you haven't tested any other source, you can't be sure that there's something wrong. For the bluetooth part, is the mic placed on top of the steering wheel? I used to have mine there and had the same problem, just switch the mic location. I have mine in the door pillar pointing to me. As for the call drop over bluetooth, no idea, sorry.
