Stock audio setup not working?
About a week ago, I was driving and the music suddenly shut off. I was listening to dubstep at max volume, kinda freaked me out. Turned my car off about 5 minutes later, turned it back on and the music played again. Ever since my audio has been working less than 50% of the time I get in the car. Sometimes I'll get in the car, turn it on and it will play for about a second and turn off again. Other times it will play fine the whole day but will turn off while driving later on. Anyone have any ideas? Ipod/AM/FM all don't work while it's down.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

probably not...it doesnt sound like u broke it
as long as the dealership isnt shady u should be good...seems like a manufacture defect or just a bad batch i'm guessing...as long u didnt mod anything that could cause that...
worst case scenario...they do an "one-time in good faith" replacement. meaning at most u would just pay for labor

Does your clock work? I was disconnecting my sub and amp today and after i unplugged all the wiring my radio wouldnt work and the clock either, but the airbag light for passenger still worked. I checked all the fuses they are fine. What could be the problem?
i had the same problem.. check the fuse box under the steering wheel.. are ur sideview mirrors working? how did u check the fuse? just bc they looked "good" doesnt mean anything.. i think the fuse that was blown on mine was a 10a.. i know there was a 5a before and after (the fuse between those) hope that helps..
Ill look again. I pulled all the fuses that were in the owners manual that pertained to the audio system and clock and looked at them. I will look again tonight maybe I missed a fused. Ill also check my mirrors.
Thanks for the help donweso809.

I had the same thing, I was the OP for the thread listed. Brought it to the dealership, they thought it was a short in the speaker. Replaced the speaker. still does it. Not sure what it is, but if you find a fix. definitely let me know!
Mine does it too. At high volume it dies and won't come back on even when I turn the volume back down. Maybe its the amp, do they have an external amp in these cars?
Just pull the head unit out and check all the connections. Really easy to do, 5 minutes tops. Pop the trim bezel out, then remove (4) 10mm bolts and you can pull it out easy. It's that simple if I am remembering correctly, been a while.
I have noticed that if I just rely on the front speakers, it won't do it as frequently/quickly. I know there is an AMP that drives the 6x9's bottom door speakers, but the head unit does the rest.
Do these things overheat and shut down easily? I just got the car, and it's only 30 degrees when I start the car, was playing RUSH Subdivisions loudly and it cut out. I don't think they should shut down that easily.
Somethings wrong, just take it back to the dealer. It's a pita I know. A lot of us that bought the 2011 Alpine H.U. had to fight with Scion for months to get ours replaced because Alpine had no signal going to the passenger 6x9. They will replace them if you keep after it. The Alpine has no problem being pushed hard for extended periods.. I'm surprised the Pioneers are giving you guys problems. Pioneer has always been one of my favorite head unit brands. Strong, clean and powerful and reliable. "Stuff" happens though...
I didn't seem to get the audio system owners manual with the car, does anyone know where to get one?
