Default Subs

I have a pair of Alpine SWR-1043D 10" subwoofers inversely mounted in a vented box, this was done to maximize internal volume. Thing is there is no trunk space. Even if I mount them "correctly" there still would be no trunk space.

Now i'm thinking there are those little storage compartments on the corners of the trunk, and I suppose i could put a pair of 8" subs in some custom boxes that would fit perfectly in there--but how much would custom boxes run?

For now I'm selling my setup if anyone is in the CT area:

Meh, never been a fan of 8''s, unless you have them in a crazy box.

Run those type-r's regularly and u should be okay.

Paying someone to make custom fiberglass enclosure that is molded into those pockets will not be cheap. A wooden box may be doable as well, but very challenging to build and seal. The angles in that space are complex. I've done alot of research on building fiberglass enclosures and have a little experience with the resin and such, and its very very time consuming. If you can afford to spend big bucks on it, go for it. Another unused cavity in the car is where the rear speakers are. I imagine a nice sealed cabinet could be built in there with some shallow mounted woofers.
