Default Tints BS from local?!?!

Can the black strips on the rear window be removed? The tints place I took it to said they can't remove it and will tint the rear window just to the black strips. They WON'T go all the way up!! Why is this??

Is it ok to remove the black strips? It's not part of the antenna or heating element correct??

No Kid they are being stupid take it to another tint shop. I have had several cars and ya some give you issues and some dont but I have had my tint for about 2 months now and it has not bubbled or started to peal. The reason they dont want to do it is cause they are being cheap when I got the car from the dealer it had dealer tint and they just tinted up to that line and cut the tint. I have a guy down here in gainesville fl that has done every car I own. If you make it to florida he can do it for you. if it was me I would find another shop. Dont remove the strips I am thinking they are for your rear window defrost.

Asked my tint guy about it before doing mine. He said there's no issue at all tinting over the strips, so long as its done right. "Ya go to a backyard tinter and you'll have problems. No professional job will have issues with that."

I've taken 3 personal cars to him, and never had any kind of issue with any of them.

i live in western PA and the place i took to get mine done, did a strip of vinyl on the upper of the rear windshield, then tinted everything lower, its possible, wherever you took it to has no clue what to do then, and if i where you man id go to a place that has a warranty on their work. if mine peels bubbles or anything they'll redo it, for life.

Chicagokid, contact marcus at major tints unlimited. He's a mobile tint guy and comes to you with all his equipment as long as you have a garage. He's cool as hell. Tell him mike with the tc sent you. Cheap as hell compared to other tint shops too. His number is 708 515 0259.

My windows were tinted and included in the price of the car. They're tinted all the way up, so it's definitely not an issue. Go somewhere else.

i have mine tinted all the way up. what i do notice is when cars are behind me, right where their headlights hit they reflect all the way up and down on all the defroster lines. It was really annoying but now i just kinda got used to it. the shop redid it twice since i have a lifetime warranty on it and the problem was still there, anybody have any sort of issue like that? its a 2010 tc

Dropped mine off at the dealer this morning to get the tint done and they did the entire back glass. Even got an put an eyebrow on it for me. So these strips shouldn't be an issue. Got a 100% lifetime guarantee and he told me if anything bubbles to just bring it back and he would do it again.
