Hi everyone. Got a question about the electronic hood latch on my '12 tC. It has stopped working for seemingly no reason, at all. This has happened before but i miraculously "fixed" itself and worked for a little while.
No noise of it unlatching or anything. Has anyone else experienced this? My first guess is to get in there and check my wiring, make sure there's no chafes or broken strands. Now that I think about it, it could be a water leakage problem, as I've noticed the trunk doesn't have the best seal. Not sure where to start or if someone already has a solution to this, and am eager to hear back. Not as eager to chase wires though haha.

 

The trunk is technically a third door on this chassis, and will only open if all the doors are unlocked electronically. Before trying anything else I just want to make sure you understand that part.

 

I can't believe I didn't think to check that. Thanks! I feel kinda dumb now, but glad it isn't broke.

 

I thought it was odd that the original owner of my tC actually demonstrated how to open the hatch. It's the only reason I've always remembered to unlock both doors.
