weird i know, yesterday my trunk would open and close like normal, but today when i unlocked it, it simply wouldnt open . i unlocked and locked it a few times but no result... any idea why this randomly happened? im not too sure what to do to fix it, probably take it to the dealership tomorrow morning, unless anyone here knows what to do.

 

So, does the latch feel like normal friction or free? Maybe something jammed in the lock or the mechanism came apart inside the hatch area.

I know you said that you locked and unlocked it a few times, but did you do it manually instead of the keyless entry. After I got my car back from my accident, I had to use the key once to get the mechanism working again. Just a thought. Good luck!

yeah i tried everything... nothing doing. dropped it off at the dealership this morning, theyre busy so they said to pick it up in the evening so ill let everyone know what the result is!

 

This happened to me...

Sometimes I have to push DOWN on the hatch for it to unlatch. Basically put some weight on it then try and open it, and it will pop open.

I discovered the cause too: the guys at the car wash knocked one of the rubber bumpers along the upper-end of the hatch off. There is one on each side, about 2 inches long, round black rubber stops that mate to the little circular 'pads' on the hatch opening. Tough to describe, I'll try to take some pics on my lunch break...

i just pressed the latch area down fully and then it opened right up. it looked like it was closed, but i guess not...

 

Mine too, and used to I could turn the key in the hatch and it would lock/unlock all doors. Now it only does the hatch. Oh well, at least its fixed.
