Default 172whp/178wtq - stock (dyno sheet and video inside)

Inflated dyno numbers, or factory freak? I'm 100% stock with a removed intake snorkel, and I find it hard to believe I'm making higher torque numbers at the wheel than what's rated at the crank.

Here's the dyno sheet. The last three runs are with TC off.

Here's a video of the very first run, which was 168/175. TC was on at this point, after turning it off numbers started getting better. Dyno was a Dynocom DC1800X.

Nice that's pretty awesome. I knew 180 whp wasn't true but its nice to see that the numbers weren't that far off.

I think it was rhythmnsmoke who said it best. Use the dynamometer as a baseline to measure improvement upon modding. Every dyno is different, and what you made on this dyno will be much different from any other you do pulls on. Example: World Racing's stock tC2 made over 180 whp on Church's dyno in CA.

Also, dont forget to factor in barometric pressure. Sea-level vs altitude can make all the difference in the world.

And temp and humidity factor in a well don't they? Most dyno runs I see are around 80+ degrees, these are at 59.

Basically when they sell you a car and they tell you how much hp it should have. They are talking about hp at the crank not the the wheels. But not every engine would have the same numbers. It basically say that 180hp and 173 tq, would be around what the average engine should have, but dont mean it could have more or less.

Yeah...that's why I put "whp" and "wtq" in the title.

The place I took it to was having a special, three runs (the guy let me do five since I didn't change anything or tune) for $60. Decent deal. Dunno about typical prices.

There's a dyno place out in St. Charles that I know a bunch of people use.

MrMexi, if your instructor was cool with it, I'd drive out to Ranken Tech and run mine as well so we can compare on the same dyno.
