I heard from an inside source thats its due to get a facelift. Thats why some tubro manufacturers don't want to apply an FMIC to their kit yet.

tC1 only received a new grill, new headlights, and new tail lights in 08. Other than that, no

facelift? i will check on this...but i can think of a number of companies/people that would very unhappy if that were to happen.

if there is a change i believe it will be minor and parts that are easily swapable (ex. highlights, grill, taillights as mentioned above)...my best bet would be the taillights...just think about it....1 reverse light in 2011, 2 reverse lights in 2012, new taillights in 2013...its all moving in that direction. however i dont know why that would warrant an increase as much as 150. possibly new interior components as well? better fuel economy/hybrid feature?

also odd after the release of the fr-s price is actually lower than originally anticipated.

I dont think $150 necessarily means new features lol it could mean inflation, higher demand for toyota vehicles, higher costs because of the war, higher costs to import them because of gas, etc.

For $150 I don't think that necessarily means we're gonna get a supercar or a prius, or even new taillights. I personally just think it's a reflection of the fact that everything is the US is getting slightly more expensive as we progress

This X2.

Toyota (or imports in general) does alot less "face lifting" than domestic brands.(think Ford) Most brands change up every 2 years, but Toyota does it about every 4-5. I only worked for Toyota for about 1.6 years, but I saw 3 years worth of product in that time and the only changes they made were complete redesigns to cars that had been out for 5-6 years already. But almost every year, one (if not all) of the models went up $100 or so.

When I was questioning why the Descendant kit didn't come with an FMIC, this is what I learned.

Hello Alex,

Thank you for inquiring about our Descendant tC2 turbo kits. Sorry for the confusion on some of the install stuff. Hopefully I'm able to answer your questions however if not please feel free to call me or email me back and I'll try again!

Yes, the intercooler tubing provided with the turbo kit clears the OEM battery no problem. The ones you've seen in pictures / videos have custom battery's for stereo systems or something else but not because of the intercooler tubes.

As for Front Mount intercooler...not and EZ install but it can be done. The ones you've seen with our kit have been custom build in house and at this time we do not offer a kit for the 2011/2012 Scion tC yet. We are waiting on the 2013 model which gets a minor facelift to be released at the end of the summer so that we build something that works with both front bumpers.

However rest assured the side mount that we currently offer totally kicks ___! Zero cutting or fabricating required for installation and it's been Dyno tested at over 420WHP.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.

The 2012 tC also got a price hike guys. The price changes with inflation, etc. It has nothing to do with added value.

It's almost certainly inflation.

From bls.gov:

" $20,000

in

Has the same buying power as:

$20,242.20

in 2012"

I'm actually surprised it's not higher, given the weakness of the Yen.

$150 price increase is due to the TRD supercharger coming standard on all 2013. Along with AWD

for the past 2 years, the used cars market was booming cuz nobody had the money to buy a new car, if you look at the prices on used cars they are outrageous and on new cars remained the same or declined/had ridic deals

now that the economy is picking up the demand for new cars is going up and the prices are goin up as to prevent shortage...

however the car could have more features if toyota found a way to reduces costs

oh econ!

The stereo and microphone together comprise the bluetooth functionality that was added, which was necessary to stay competitive in the marketplace, not to give the customer added value. Even the Korean competitors were including it before Toyota was in this segment. The additional reverse light is not something that counts as a selling point. It was added most likely because Toyota realized that the single reverse light was resulting in unnecessary confusion from customers thinking they had a bulb out.
