Airbag light on....
Hey all, need some input. I recently had a car alarm installed and installer told me when he removed knee panel (panel below steering wheel) to put brain of alarm there, it triggered the srs airbag light. He said he didn't have the tools to deactivate the light. he told me dealer should be able to reset it. Is he full of crap or will dealer just reset the light?
Your installer may have to settle up with you. When I had my Camry airbag light reset after some aftermarket work in 2007, I believe it was $112 total for the dealer to reset. I read some places online to try a DYI; but airbags and ECUs I decided I just don't screw with.
you may have to have it recalibrated and re set with the dealer scan tool. you can try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for bout 5 minutes and reconnecting like for check engine lights. don't know if it will work tho
Hey folks, went to the dealer today and it turns out, the installer of my alarm failed to reconnect the cable all the way, causing light to be triggered. It was the knee airbag. Service guy said this one was a freebe because they charge 107 an hour. Whatever, they fixed it for free, so all is well now.
Mine turned off after a few days of turning the car on and off, i'm glad.
I also sat in the passenger seat to see if the OFF and ON would change and it did.
