Let me put in my 2 cents here...

1) it has TRD Springs

2) the seats are much better then stock seats

3) 5axis body kit

4) "RED" sets it off from all other tC's

5) center TRD exhaust is way better then side single exhaust that you will probably be adding a fart can!

and...

6) the automatic comes with paddle shifters.... let's see you add that to your tC!

7)KBB value for RS is worth more then stock tC. so the money you'd put in your tC to get it to the level of a RS would be wasted cause you won't get anything back out of it.

But to each their own. Happy shopping.

1. TRD springs are dirt cheap & teins are better

2. Seats are identical aside from stitching you could get much better aftermarket any day of the week

3. You can get that body kit plus everyone has it

4. So does any other color you can get your tc painted its a tc people look regardless

5. TRD exhaust sounds like ____ and any car with a center exhaust should be stupid fast like a Bugatti tc will never be not to mention my Megan sounds and looks much better

6. Your a homo or a girl if you drive an automatic

7.kbb doesn't mean crap nada is where it's and and RS are just as common as any other tc

8. The 4k could be spent on a turbo kit and or a million other better things for the tc to make it unique a RS car is not unique at all it's a factory produced car anyone can go buy it and claim to be different its a scion customize it yourself don't let the factory do it for you

Your opinion to most of those numbers! And driving stick DOESN'T make you a man!

Tell me what part of the upholstery is the same between the regular TC and the RS 8.0?.... It's more then just stiching.

And I bet I get more complements from my RS 8.0 then you get from your ordinary looking tC. Just saying. Don't get mad bro

I would have to disagree with every one of your opinions. Especially with the stock (including TRD, and 5axis) to aftermarket comments. A smart buyer will never buy any vehicle with after market components, and will especially not pay more. A smart modder will never put parts into their vehicle under the assumption that they will get more value out of the car. Also if someone on this site has boosted their car for 4grand total please let me know lol. That's where the rs8 shows the extra value, the installation of parts is included in the total cost. By the way the rs8 seats are the same material as the frs. Those are quality seat material (for cloth at least). Oh and last point I need to bring up is that your Megan exhaust puts you in your number 6 category... Why put a fart can on a tc? Makes your tc no different from a Honda.

Just to clear the air..

1. Buyers will purchase a vehicle with aftermarket parts. It just depends on the parts and the market. It's not always a guarantee though, so don't EXPECT to get 100% of your money back.

2. I boosted my car for $3800 total.

3. If your buy TRD or 5Axis parts from the dealership, the installation is included in the cost.

4. You can get aftermarket seats that will be 1000x nicer than the RS and Non-RS seats for just over $500 including brackets.

The rest of that statement is opinions

GREAT STORY BRO...

1) you won't even get 10% of your money back on modded parts! That's a fact

2) NO WAY you turbo'd your car for under $4k and have it be dependable daily driver

3) Your missing the point of the RS... it already has those parts on it thus making the KBB price higher because of the package. KBB doesn't have options for if you installed TRD parts of 5axis parts or any parts other then spoiler, wheels, DVD and radio

4) you said about the seats, the ONLY difference was "red" threading. I proved you wrong there! Of course you can find better seats. I had them in my 08 Evo X MR plus ALL the parts you are trying to put on your tC. And the Evo CAME with it from the factory= which equals a higher value. I traded it in at the dealership in 2012 for $30,000 plus tax credit of $2430. I paid $38,600 for it in 2009. It was bone stock and and only lost $6k for a 3 yr old car, but it did only have 2200 miles on it when I traded it in.

STOP arguing and just enjoy your car.... PLEASE!

I'm not arguing with anyone, I was just stating some facts so when people look at the thread their decision to buy an RS vs Non-RS isn't influenced by opinions or false facts.

In response to your post..

1) You get much more than 10% back on your parts. A few years ago I purchased my Silverado for $8000, put $4200 into it, sold it for $12500. That's not a typical case, but proves that you get more than 10% back.

2) I spent $3800 on a Descendant Turbo Kit, Installed it in 6-8 hours, and tuned it properly. That's less than $4000.

3 - 4) This specific argument has been going on since the RS came out. It's all a matter of opinion and based on the battle of Built vs Bought. Some people prefer to build their own cars with their own parts and their own tastes, and some people prefer to spend that extra bit of money to buy them from the factory already modded for them. It's all in personal choice.

Honestly I'm just stirring stuff up talking crap lol I'm a firm believer to each there own the RS is nice but not for me you could essentially make the identical car in any color you want for cheaper aside from the slap shifts and center exhaust also not exactly sure how an exhaust makes my car a honda lol idk how many Hondas my new tc has had for lunch it's great the point is for th extra 4k buy an frs or must mod yourself anyone can buy a car not anyone can build one buying a car is not impressive at all seeing the guy that built a car over a year or two and put his blood sweat and tears into it now that's impressive any chump with a good job or mommy and daddy's money ( most of the time) can buy a car congrats lol also another funny thing I ran into an 8.0 the other day and he was checking out my black 13 and told me he'd wished he'd just done what I'd done the only thing I can say I like about the RS is the bright paint and the 5axis kit but I can do all that myself in a truely unique color later

Good stuff. Thank you for explaining yourself... as to the person with a good job, I'm basically unemployed for the past 2 years, and also 43 yrs old. I traded in my 07 FJ Cruiser for the RS 8.0. It just felt better to me then the base one. The dealership had one on showroom floor that a custom shop next door had fixed up. Cement color with flat grey 19"TSW rims, tinted tails, JBL 8" sub, ground kit and spoiler, blacked emblems, tint, lowered, "bad" vinyl job on hood (see lines all over) for $7999 add on. Sticker was $28560 and I could have gotten it for $26k. Just wanted the RS more.

To the OP, if you don't get the RS this year, you will have to wait 2 years for the next one.

I've been able to obtain the RS parts for much less than you paid at the dealer. It "feeling" better is just a placebo effect. They are the same car. I'm at 22k in right now and I have a much better car than the RS is off the lot: coilovers, strut, sway bars, intake, exhaust, short shifter, honeycomb grille, and extras. I have yet to catch up to what you paid. Not interested in flappy paddles, and 5AD kit just puts me up 1.5k or so.

FWIW, next RS will release in less than 2 years.
