Default Cold Air intake and warranty

Hey everyone! I just signed up today after buying my first car ever (2012 scion tc) and instantly love everything about the car from the way it drives and handles to the looks but of course I would love that little something extra.

I'm curious as to whether or not I can add a cold air intake to it and not void the warranty because I have power train and bumper to bumper for 80000 more miles.

Thanks for the help!

(Pic because I'm too excited for the car!)

No it won't void your warranty, just use one that won't throw codes. They have to prove it directly breaks something which it won't, however
I would personally keep it stock, just saying.

some options to consider are Takada, Injen or H&R intakes. those, if installed correctly should not throw any CEL. make sure you are disconnecting your battery during install to allow the computer to reset. and after reconnecting it, you can start her up and you should wait 15 mins or so for it to re-learn idle (otherwise it can get rough).

If you install it all correctly, you get no CEL and no problems from the dealer. no voided warranties.

Thanks for the help! Car is a blast to drive. But being the first car I ever bought for myself I am babying it. I'm scared to even use the S mode to pass. I did it once and was a bit scared I'd break the car.

'Twas fun though

Get the intake and don't speak a word about it to your dealership and you will never have any issues. If something goes wrong with the car, come on here and let us know and we'll let you know if you should put the box back on or not so you don't have any issues.

And you aren't going to break the car either.
