Crank no start
I recently did an engine swap on my 2011 tc. In the process the ecu got damaged. I replaced it and reset the immobilizer. The car cranks and cranks but won’t start. I have power to everything except the cam sensors. They are reading 0 volts. I’m getting no spark or fuel. It’s starting to seem like my replacement ecu is junk. Just looking for some feedback before trying another.
I spoke with a local dealer and they won’t touch it claiming they can’t because I’ve done all the work myself hahaha. They also told me they were unsure of whether it needed to be programmed or not. I did talk with a guy that used to work for that same dealership. He now has his own shop and says it doesn’t need to be programmed but is worried that it may have been “fried” during shipping as it was shipped without a foil bag. I’m just trying to figure out if there is anything else that would cause this before spending more money on my “easy” motor swap fix. Thanks for the reply
I swapped the hydrolocked 2AR-FE engine from my 2014 with a 2AR-FE from a 2013 Rav4. I kept my existing ECU in the engine bay at all times, and just plugged the Rav engine into my Scion's ECU.
So, from my experience, as long as it is a 2AR-FE engine, should not matter what ECU you have.
EDIT: Also, why do I still have a 5 year badge, 13 years after my join date?

OP did you contact any other dealers or specialty shops in your area?
I went ahead and swapped the ecu out with no luck. I checked a few things out on the motor and realized that my grounding straps from the harness are throwing 5 volts. When I disconnect them from the head I get my ref voltage back for my cam sensors but still no start. Does anybody have any ideas on why I’m getting 5 volts from this grounds?
