The Descendant intake has been installed. Performance wise it works great but the way it was built is what I am totally not pleased with.

1. The sensor's 2 screws - 1 goes in just fine but the other is not aligned properly so it cannot be screwed in no matter what I tried.

2. Why is there not a place to hook up the sensor to the intake instead of using the included zip ties?

3. Lastly, the rubber+screw part that holds the intake in place (to the car chassis) is a piece of ****. For those that don't know what I am talking about, when you've received it, take a look at the rubber part and give it a go, it will come right off the rubber.

I didn't take a picture because I am not proud of this purchase.

Not to pester, since you seem pretty miffed about all this, but if you get time, can you elaborate on this, and possibly offer some photos?

without pictures...i guess the best way to look at it is search for Papa_Bear's injen install...towards the end there is a piece (the sensor) where he says to remove part of it and then that piece (the sensor) will reattach itself to the instake...in the stock setup, i believe it was connected via clip on the stock pipe

...to the find the sensor...trace back from the MAF screwed into the intake and you'll find it

#3 - You would think it does. Try giving it a push and the bolt (screw) should come off the rubber (either side). FYI, the screw with the rubber is not one but two pieces. The bolt does *not* go through the rubber.

i will double check before i say more, but from what i remember during my installation is that i gave the whole intake a good shaking to make sure everything was secure...

i do remember having to remove the nut before sliding in the intake to the bolt..it did not line up perfectly because the position i put the top tube was slightly more to the right so that the bottom tube could avoid the battery as much as possible, meaning that in the intake ended up putting force against the rubber/bolt..and then i put the nut back on and tightening with a socket wrench...seemed secure to me. but again I will double check later

Yeah. That's it. If you put some more force to it, the bolt will off the rubber (could be either side depending which sides gives up ).

You guys mean the VSV (Vacuum Switching Valve) Sensor? The one that Injen has a clip for, so you reattach it to the intake?

....you zip tie it? ....??

the takeda has a spot to bolt the VSV onto the new unit. You have to take it off of the bracket that it uses to bolt onto the factory setup. My Takeda kit didn't have the bolt, but I found one that worked.

1. My screws fit just fine...

2. Yes, a chincy way to go about it. I zipped tied the parts to another group of wires...

3. Mine popped off as well. I used superglue to reattach it. Better than nothing as it's holding, but again, kinda chincy.

I don't know what they were thinking when that was made.

And then I really don't know what I am going to do with the 1 screw missing. THAT looks *chincy*!

I'm going to avoid the urge to suggest ways to make it fit. You are clearly a big boy and have a basic grasp of auto maintenance.

Have you tried emailing or calling Descendant Racing? From what I've read on the forums, they are very responsive and happy to help troubleshoot. It doesn't do much for their rep to just ignore your problem and maybe there is an easy fix.

1. mine is same as yours but i screwed both.

2. i zipped tied it. when im installing it, i was like 'where the hell is the thing to clip/hook the wires just like on papa_bears injen intake install video.

3. i ddnt notice. and i did shake it after i installed it. but not that hard.

So I was finally able to put in both screws for the sensor. For those that are having the same problem putting both screws in, what I suggest is put the screw in from Descendant first then use the stock screw for the other. What this does is it forced aligns it then simply remove the stock screw and you should be able to put the Descendant screw in just fine.

Secondly, I had some issues with the rubber part from Descendant so I made something that works even better.

This is the part from Descendant

This is the same part...

Mine

Pretty self explanatory! It's well secured and raises the pipeline a little so you have some clearance from the battery, air filter, and the body's chassis.
