Default Hi guys, brand new owner of TC. (Engine sound Normal? Help)

After months of debating either to fix up my old car or buying a new one I ended up getting a Crimson TC, brand new. Been about 2 weeks now and I pretty much love the car.

I love coupes and needed something that can fit 4-5 adults comfortably, the TC seemed like it provided what I needed. My first new car ever too.

Congratz!...Always feels good to buy a new car!

New Car Tip: Make sure you put like 2 coats of Wax on the car right away....
Then use Mother's brand Spray Wax w/ a Microfiber towel to do the daily clean off of dust and crap & between washes etc...

Modding Tip: I would focus on upgrading the Suspension set-up first!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I would love to mod my car out like a lot of the topics I see on here but I'm sort of low on cash and will have to save up for it.

I feel pretty stupid but how important is it to wax a new car? I was told it was waxed at the dealership, now I"m worried but I don't have time until later next week to wax the car.

sorry for the noob questions.....first new car ever in my family period. Scionlife forums are a wealth of information though ^_^

Dealerships LIE. They dont do PooP to your car win you pick it up Brand New.

Its always a good idea to Detail the car when its new...Its easier on the paint and will be easy to clean your in the future too.

^^ Mine looked worse AFTER the detail guy took it back to clean it while I signed the paperwork. Not a bit of wax on it, water spots everywhere. Just give her a good bath and throw a decent carnauba wax on her. it makes keeping the car clean sooo much easier. The paint on this car is cheap and thin. It needs all the help you can give it.

This is a late post but I work for a dealership and first we get the new car washed, then waxed, then put on the lot.

Thanks again guys, I waxed it recently and boy did it make a difference. It is now a lot easier to clean.

Still getting use to the car, I find it a little big a heavy compared the Integra I use to have, but I sure do love my TC2.

A part of me was kicking myself for not waiting a few months for the FR-S instead, but after seeing it in person, it just feels like the TC2 offered more bang for your buck!

Default Hi guys, brand new owner of TC. (Normal engine sound? Help)

Hi again

So I I was just looking under the hood of my car and the engine sounds like this

This is after a day of driving around so the engine isn't cold.

Not sure if this is normal or is this what they call engine rattle?

Hope its just new car owner paranoia..............

Sounds fairly standard for these cars. They do have noisy engines. If you really worried about it take it in and tell them to have a look at it, it is under warranty after all. If the noise bugs you get an engine cover off a camry or one of the carbon fiber password jdm ones and it helps with the sound a little bit. Welcome to the group!

Wax the car right away? I thought maybe there was a paint curing time on a new car..
Anyway I didnt have any paint problems on my tC1. I did alot of cleaning at the beginning.
I have a black tC2 now and am worried about the paint. Perhaps I will give it a wax. I don't know who has time for two coats tho.
