Default My cars in the shop.. dun dun dunnn...

Had a HORRIBLE creeking/creaking?. noise in the back of the hatch compartment.. I removed EVERYTHING, plastic, spare tire, pieces, trunk etc.. and it was still there. I took to the dealership and had the shop foreman go for a ride with me, he said wtf is that? first hes ever heard.. So he has 2 of his guys test riding/riding in back seat trying to find the noise source and fix it for me. lol.. wtf is right.

5800 miles I have currently had the following replaced/repaired from factory issues

1. TRD Sway bars, werent installed/greased properly, failed and made horrible HORRIBLE noises like bottoming out, replaced and redid everything.
2. Had a bent flywheel/messed up clutch assembaly from factory. They fixed everything, like a $2000 bill and parts they fixed, thank you dealership.
3. Had warping on a door panel.
4. Squeaking and creeking rear hatch. currently being repaired...

Not a good track record so far, I get average mpg in alaska 24city but i let go warm up everyday like 5 times a day. I assume will be like 30 in summer lol. Overall I am really glad I bought the 100k/7-8 year warranty for my car.. man at this rate they will end up having to get me a new car.

Never driven a toyota tacoma, they just gave me a 13 one and its pretty nifty 500 miles. Though I bet the gas mileage is going to suck. So quiet compared to our TC with road noise.. Thats how I have tried to my tc to sound like with no avail.

Anyone else have issues they've had to had rectified recently from factory?

Try this before you do, remove the screws from your door panel, the 2 in the arm holder and 1 behind door opener.

see if it relieves pressure, one of my door panels was fixed by undoing, retightening them. the other was actually flat out warped. no idea how, the warping i encountered was the line flush with window went ------/\--- huge bump. was weird

let me tell you this. i may be super lucky, but my toyota/lexus/scion dealership is AWESOME. No questions asked, if you have an issue and they can fix it. They do. I've had 4 loaner cars, free of charge of course. They fix it as fast as they can but correctly i only come back because its new issues lol. Never rude and always polite/ real friendly and ive become friends with a few of them. Including two hot chics who works there, (they added me on facebook) >.> always invites me to parties.

when I left dealership today I was driving toyota tacoma home, like 5 mins later i saw the MOST BEAUTIFUL chic driving a 11-12-13 scion tc grey/cement. Man. so fine, 90% of the tC drivers i see (not many tc's up here but they are becoming more popular, i wouldnt say theres more than 6-7 in my area tc2's) but 3 out of the 7 ive seen are hot chics, 2 old ladies and 1-2 guys or so.

speaking of fact, they just gave me a call. He explained that there is a plastic/metal/clip or something under the plastic in the back of car. It wore down/shaved down from use and they sent it to national toyota or whatever to get a tsb/work order for other scions for this year (he just sends it up no gaurantee national toyota will put it out) however he said it looks to be a bad design and they are fixing it for me. they ordered parts and they are (pretty sure) thats the issue. will give me a call in 20 minutes and said they could possibly have it done by morning if it indeed is the issue (replace it) and test to see if issue is still there but hopefully il have my car in morning. wooh

I just went from a Tacoma TRD double cab to the TC2. Definitely less road noise in the Taco (likely just due to proximity to the road) but I was getting ~15mpg in the winter. Average through warmer months with mixed hwy/commute was 17.8.

I used the tacoma for 2 days, turned it back in (i moved furniture etc with it.. great timing to get the rental from them) they ordered parts, and gave my car back. tacoma ate gas like mentioned, and i was not impressed over all. the doors rattled etc but yeah the noise was cut down but still noticeable. I enjoy my tc2 overall. cant wait til summer hits though.
