Cool New to form, new to car

Hey guys, im Chris, living out in Ontario right now. im currently driving a 98 Ford F150, but im selling that truck to use as a down payment for a brand new 2011 Scion TC. the only thing im stuck on right now, are rims and the color of the car.. i also drive a 1990 yamaha raidian 600.

I'm mainly just lookin for other Scion freinds out there, and to get help and suggestions for my new build

My first choice was a white '11.
I loved the look of black on white.

But I got a black instead... impulse choice and a months difference of shipment.
I love it now... possibly more-so than the white. B

But you notice every scratch and scuff. IDK about the other colors...but you pay for the sex.

Yeah...
if you have the time and patience and love to dedicate to the black...
go for it. It takes a lot of care... and you need to love her sweetly to keep her as scratch-free as possible. But she is sexy.. even with a few swirls.

But, if you don't feel like taking care of her or gently rubbing her on a decent schedule... then choose a different colour. ;p

white is an awesome color! and not as hard as people think to keep clean

black (sorry jayjay) seems to be one of the hardest scion tc2 colors to maintain..swirls and paint chips

red is not as common as the other colors....but is a really good and unique too if ur going for that!

i'm not sure ur position on the 2011 vs the 2012...but since the new one is suppose to release in maybe a month or so...i dont want u to kick urself in the butt just in case u feel like u should have waited for the newer model

main differences between the two...2012 has 2 reverse lights, white clock display, about 2-3k more expensive

personally i like the 2011 better so i'm happy...but each person is different. just an fyi since u havent actually bought it yet

also the new FR-S is "expected" to be out within a year or so

im aware the 2012 is coming next month, but.. i dont want to wait another month, and my dealer told me if i get the 2011 now financing is lower due to trying to make room for the 2012, so yeah. and i was talking to a couple of people about colour, i think im going to have to order the red one

also getting a new pioneer stereo with included bluetooth... where is the 2-3k more expensive? Last I saw:

"The base manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2012 Scion tC equipped with a six-speed manual transmission is $18,575, and $19,575 when mated to a six-speed automatic transmission*. A special, limited-edition tC Release Series 7.0 due later this summer will carry an MSRP of $20,905 and $21,905 when equipped with a manual and automatic transmission*, respectively. (*Prices do not include delivery, processing,or handling fees.)"

hm...i remember in motor trend it said that the 2012 is starting at like $22k or something

....but then they had a picture of the RS...

so maybe they messed up and said 2012...but put the info/pictures/price of the RS...which is a 2011 right? i always forget with that car....

oh well either way..based on ur statement the higher price tC is the RS and not the base 2012

from what i was told from my dealer, was the price of the 2012 will be around the 2011, but the finance will be higher, and it will take longer for me to get my Scion

the RS 7.0 is a 2012 with the new whoosiewhatsits....

Keep in mind if your 2011 in the color/transmission you want is not available you may be waiting for the dealer to find you one, and a 2012 may end up being faster.

The color choices are somewhat limiting... I personally went with SW as I did not want to blend in with the pavement, I've had to many silver/grey/darkgrey cars and people just seem to not see them.

well, black is easy to scratch, i've seen pictures of the red scion, and i liked them, and i havnt seen a single red scion in person, so im hoping it'll look as good as the photo's.

theres a train yard thingie near toronto, about 6 hour drive away, the dealer told me that's were Scion is storing there cars untill a nearby dealer request one, then they deliver and put my assesories on

Gotta hurry and pick your choice as there isn't many left of the 2011's...

I got one of the last few AT Black with Leather and Security and was told there were only a couple left.

I believe they are stores in the Toyota warehouse on Progress Ave... Google Maps 1 Toyota Place and you'll see the place.. It's indoors so no point in driving there to see what they got lol

get black, you'll hate how dirty it gets in the begining but then you will get used to it and will become careful with it.

i wash my car like once every 3 weeks

Well as long as you get the color right? Lol... But you might want to confirm that with the Scion Brand Manager at the dealer and not some reg Sales Rep

And I'm in a group at work where we all pitched in an bought the 90 Day care wash seasons pass from Petro Canada and we all get it like 1 or 2 times per week. And I make sure to wash it whenever I get it

But when it's freshly washed... Damn the black is nice!

I got lucky on my magnetic gray at the dealer. I been test driving cement and silver cuz they did not have te mag gray I wanted in 6MT. And finally the day I was gonna sign papers on the cement a 6MT mag gray just got off the truck and it was mine!! No one order it, just the dealer order. I love this color for years and now I have one.

If you like darker tint of yellow, try for the RS7. Might be hard to get since only 2200+ Toyota will make.

The white and cement looks really good in person. The nat blue looks really good clean and in person.

If you prefer the 2012, the head unit different and it has twin reverse lights. Colors are the same as 2011.

IMO... Best is mag gray, then cement, then white, black, silver and nat blue.
