Default Paint chip repair

So my TC has a chip on the front right of the bumper. Either highway debris or someone backed up into it. My TC is Crimson Mica and where the paint is missing, it is black/very dark grey.

What color does Toyota/Scion use as their primer?

Trying to determine how deep the scratch is and I assume the dark grey is the primer? I am more use to the light grey primer, I've done paint chip repairs before on a old integra but the primer was easy to see as it was light grey.

I've ordered some base coat paint from automotive touch up and will do some wet sanding to clean it up.

Why don't you just go to your car dealer and ask them to paint the chip?

I think it's free.

tape off the area around it. paint the place that is chipped. peel off tape after its dry. works out pretty well for my bigger chips

For a small paint chip? I believe so.

Just get touch up paint. If it is deep, and you want it to sit level with the surface, then keep laying paint on and top it off with clear coat. Then wet sand it, buff it, and you're good to go. I've done that a few times, takes patience though.
