Default Scion tC2 Check Engine Fluid Light

I've been getting the check engine fluid light coming on every time I start up the car. It goes away after driving for about a minute.

I was thinking that the light comes on and off whenever the engine is warmed up and ready to go. Has anyone else been getting this?

If your talking about the green light that resembles a thermometer when you first start the car I'm thinking that's to let you know when the care Warmed up I always let my car warm up before I drive it and every time I let it get warm I gurantee if you let it go off before driving it will run alot smoother

I live in alaska, and we have negative -15* and honestly, I use remote start, and it cant even get warm enough idling.. So, when I get in car, no matter how cold I instantly drive it. Its actually better than letting it sit proven. Get in and drive it, warm it up, and fluids are pumped faster and such. Everyone to their own.

Yeah its that green light.

It does run a lot smoother when the light is off. Sometimes I let it warm up idle for almost 5 minutes and the light doesn't go off. Its really no biggie, just wondering if any other people are experiencing the same thing.

Try paying 1000+ dollars. You can get it done. Just costly

Run full synthetic gear lube. Better shifting also.

Very possible, the neutral safety wire from the remote start just has to go to the clutch engage wire of the vehicle, acts as though its seeing the clutch is pushed in on remote start, just gotta make sure the car is in neutral with e-brake on, if its in gear during remote start, your screwed. And it doesn't cost too much more either

I've been doing starters for a while now, part of my profession

Yeah I park in neutral e brake up. I have full alarm sensor and such to go with it. It's worth it i leave heated seats on and come out to warm seats at least.

It won't start if its in gear. A safety

Yeah it'll soley depend on the brand of unit to have a feature to not start while in gear, I've seen where someone's leaves a car in gear and remote starts it and it'll launch forward, even if the clutch isn't physically pushed in, the crank of a car engine still has enough power to launch a car a good 20-30ft before it shuts down, but generally it hits a wall, car, house before that. Had a buddy who's dad moved his car without him knowing, later tried to remote start it, don't hear it start so tried again and about 20 seconds later heard a loud crash, his car was left in gear by his dad, car flew 4 houses down across the street and ended up 5 steps up someone's porch, was a 2003 Subaru, had about 340hp or so, enough to drive it that far before it died out

I've got a remote start/alarm combo in my tC as well but it's an auto, I havnt installed one in a manual tc2 yet

i've got a compustar and not a fan of their base remote, only have it cause it was free, but if you do with a compustar look into their 2 way slice LED remote, only good thing i like that they offer remote wise, others are big and bulky

the shop i work at would run between 220-240 installed depending, our tCs come with immobilizers which require a module to properly bypass, gotta wire into the IMI and IMO bypass wires under the hood, honestly its not a hard install, just lengthy and have to have a pretty good understanding of the vehicles electrical circuits and how they work.

if either of you guys were somewhat local to me id be able to get one for you for stupid cheap, looking at 40 for the remote start, 35 for the module, and only charge 40 for the install

this is what I have, with full alarm+tilt/break/shock sensor, also an unlocking car code pad bottom left windshield. I had it installed at a pro dealer because you have lifetime warranty of all labor and parts for the stuff purchased/installed with them.
