^^ right, my point is, the last thing you want is something expensive like a transmission going out right after the basic warranty goes. Whether its 36k or 60k... he is covered till 100k, with only having to pay a $100 deductible.

These are a massive profit item for the dealer. Where does that profit come from?
Also, the water pump isn't that hard to change; it's driven by the accessory belt and simply bolts on to the side of the engine. Very few things will break outside of warranty on these cars(unless abused). If you got a bad tranny you'll know it before 60k.
