Shawn Bakers HVAC controls/guages
I forget who it was, as well. However, I remember them looking very well done.
A quick minute in the search tab and I found it was BeloZero.

I believe he mounted the controls in the center console. His build thread will probably show the finished product. In the thread I'm referencing, he was having some trouble with Glowshift Gauges he purchased, last I saw.
Ah yes! Sorry. Got the "zero"s mixed up. Haven't seen you on here in a while. How's the rebuild?
And, on topic, I think I like scionchicop's solution the best so far. I'd just rather the displays be more to one corner...
The other option you could try is to add a digital controller to the HVAC controls with bluetooth connectivity and write a program that works with your iPhone/Android, so you just control the temp from your phone!

Agree with you on scionchicop's mod. It's low-key, functional, and in a visible location. The main reasons I went on the dash is keep all of the car's interior functionality by staying away from the airbags in the pillars and keeping all the storage space usable, keep the meters visible, and because it was the easiest to do. :3
Btw, I'm still lurking about.
