just act confident...thats what i do and they dont bother

i say things like....
-the amount i drive this car...i dont want to bother shifting or for the conditions i drive this car, its just easier/less hassle
-i thought about it...but i was going more for show...so getting an auto will keep me from spending money on all the performance mods
-getting a auto will keep me from wanting to race
-i live in luxury...i spent the extra grand so the car will shift for me
-my other car is a Porsche (MT) anyways...i want variety so i got this one automatic

all in all...just be confident with your car and you will get respect

-You don't know me beotch. I have a spaceship in my underground bunker. The AT was as close as I could get to not having to drive constantly.

That's what I say. ;-/

Speaking of self-confidence, I'm very happy with my choice, but I don't try to rub it in other people's faces.

The only life-impacting downside I've had with my automatic is if you have a friend who's a manual ***** like I do, he (or she, I guess) will find some way to make a dig at your transmission any time the opportunity avails itself. That gets old really fast. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to ride in his car and I don't want him in my car, either way opens up the avenue for the same old conversation despite my requests that it cease.

Most manual drivers are probably more respectful but geesus. Take that smug air of superiority elsewhere, I'm quite happy with my automatic.

Auto cost more than Manual....if we learned anything from celebrities, the media, and such...expensive is always better

Why would you want that boot? You drive an automatic..... be proud of it. Being poser is driving an automatic and trying to act like you have a manual.......

Like KidJustin said "people won't mess with you as long as you know your place". Not exactly what he said but basically what he ment. I have a manual car that sits it the garage and use my tC as a daily driver. My friends asked me why I got an automatic after driving a manual for so long. I then ask them why did they decide to get an automatic? The simple answer is CONVENIENCE. After you drive an manual for a few years on a daily basis you will start to hate it. Once you go automatic you won't go back. This isn't true for everyone but I don't race or try to be like those 2 Fast 2 Furious kids who like to street race and kill each other doing it..... I'm still very much a car guy and enjoy modding cars. I just do it on another level than what most people do. I don't build up motors but instead try to make a good looking ride that feels good and I can enjoy on a daily basis.

Thanks lol. I have been trying to tell everyone who drives an automatic that is into cars like me that their is nothing wrong with it. You can still make an automatic fast, cool, whatever. Manual transmissions are just a trendy thing ever since The Fast and Furious came out or for people who are looking to race or save a grand off the cost of a new car. Almost all of my friends including me started out on a manual transmission and do you know how many of us are still driving that manual?........NONE OF US!

Hey, HEY! Us M/T drivers are NOT trying to be Fast n Furious!

Ok hold on, no my laptop is NOT connected to the OBDII sensor, ok well maybe it is.

...but seriously, I've been driving a M/T since '88, I wanted better control over my vehicle, engine braking, and I just like it.

Besides, test driving the xB...auto was weak. Test drove the tC, auto was just, wrong.
