Default tc1 parts on tc2

I bought two salvage tc's (2009 & 2010), most stuff is in tact except for some engine damage. My 2012 tc2 has arrived at the dealer and I was wondering if I can use any parts from the last gen for my new one, engine cover hint hint

if you can get anything from the gen1 to fit on the gen2 without modification. let everyone know!!! because as far as i know. there is not one part that anyone has found from the gen1 that fits correctly on the gen2. scion changed just about everything with the new models.

Will do.

As far as I know, the only engine covers that fit on our tc2's are the 2010 -2011 2.5 Toyota (found on Camry) and the one made by passport.

Nah. 2010 is a 2.4L and 2011 is a 2.5L. They are different engines, different engine covers. Your 2012 is a 2.5L. That Jk2 guy is right. There isn't one part that is swapable.

If you don't mind me asking... what are you going to do with those cars? And what happened to them? How much did you spend on each and why did you get them?

Yea, not even the wheels fit (without using adapters). I was thinking of putting snow tires on 17's and keeping the low profile tires for the summer.

As for your questions, my uncle owns a used car dealership so we bought them at auction for $4000 a piece. They were both in front collisions, I can take pictures if you're interested. I got them in hopes of fixing them and reselling them for more. (no way I'm going to pay insurance for more than one car.) I was just wondering if I could use any of those parts for my new tC, but if I can't it's fine.

So when people say that the tc2 is evolutionary instead of revolutionary, they were judging a book by its cover. Everything has changed.

Would like to see pics and maybe a rough summary of what needs to be done/money spent to get them up and running

Sure thing. I'll try to get them this weekend. The cars are currently being repaired, so selling the crashed car is not an option. And the title needs to be cleared anyway.
