Turbo / Show Car Part Out Link - ProjectTC2 Build Thread
#221
So I've come to the sad conclusion that I'm done ordering things for my car for a while Other than eyelids, These 6 things that are on the way are going to be the last things until my Turbo in the future. I am starting at UCF next semester, and I need to make sure I am financially comfortable there before I start purchasing things again </3

Got my S-Tech's yesterday and went ahead and swapped them in my car. For some reason, install was a pain in the ___ for the rear! But all in all, it went pretty smoothly. (Please ignore how dirty my car is!)
Unboxing the S-Tech's
Comparison of S-Tech, H-Tech, and Stock front springs. (Needless to say, the S-Tech's need to be broken in)
S-Tech and H-Tech rear springs
Front Wheel (H-Tech's on top, S-Tech's on bottom)
Rear Wheel (H-Tech's on top, S-Tech's on bottom)
How it sits with H-Tech's and S-Tech's (S-Tech's might go a little lower after some driving)
With S-Tech's
H-Tech's boxed up and ready to be sold!

Haha then go get money! Now!
H-Tech's are great for daily drivers, I just wanted to go lower for car shows. I'm not sure if I like being this low as a daily driver though, i rub on things that I would expect not to. Kind of scares me

Still running the stock 225/45/R18's and yea it's stretched a lot haha. I personally dont like that much stretch but it seemed like such a waste to get new tires, when these ones were only 3 months old. When these die out on me then i'll get a little bit wider tires to fit my 9.5" wide rims

Got my LED's in to do my LED swap! I changed every light that I could possibly see, with the exception of the Traction Control (Took that LED out), the Window button (Weird size?), and the Radio which I have yet to take on that project.
By the way, my camera doesn't like the white colors so it appears crazy bright and blurry, but it's clear and normal brightness in person.
And does anybody know what size this LED is or how to disconnect / connect a new one?

very nice. i like it alot. is there a shopping list of some sort of all the LED types/sizes we would need to do a full color swap like this? i've been considering it.
BTW, 29.7 avg mpg?!? do you shift at 2k rpms?
edit: oh wait its an auto... disregard

Thanks Justin! I'll get that ordered right away!
Bamino, I posted this list on page 10 but I'll update it because I discovered a few things
LED's for Complete LED Swap:
Airbag on - PCCL2 x2
Airbag off - PCCL2 x2
Security Indicator - Slightly larger than 0805 (I just used PCCL2)
Clock - Gel Filter
HVAC Buttons - 3mm (1 each)
HVAC Backlights - NEO4-x (1 each)
Gauge Backlight - PCCL2 x8
Gauge Needles - PCCL2 x8
Gauge Indicators - PCCL2 x20
Foglight - 3mm
Window Control - 5mm Flat
Traction Control - WAY too tiny to solder a new one in!
Hazard - Slightly large than 0805 (Can use PCCL2)
Alpine Stereo - (No idea!)

Hmm lets see.
Gauge Swap: 1.5 Hours
Clock Area Swap: .5 Hours
HVAC Swap: .75 Hours
So probably about 2 hours and 45 minutes to do everything. I also did a few experiment things. I took out the LED from the Trac Control off because the orange clashed, and I took apart the window controls to see what the LED looked like. I have yet to look into the radio for the swap, so We'll see how long that takes

Is the LED gauge cluster swap that easy or are you that good? 1.5 hrs!? lol.
On the S-Tech ride quality, thanks for the reply. I was pretty sure that was the case. It's the stock tires that make you feel every pebble literally. I was sooo glad I bought different tires for that reason alone, I was just about to give up on the S-Techs. Night and day difference with different tires. I am glad we finally have the opinion on both sets of springs from a single owner's perspective.

Hahaha the LED swap is semi easy, but then again I've done about 10000000 LED swaps at work!
I kind of figured the stock tires made it rough, the rubber compound of the tires is such a hard material. When It's time for new tires I'm Definetley going with some softer ones
