No,
I just did the install like the youtube video shows, (I know I have seen it on this forum somewhere)

Just plug in the OBD, and plug in the harness inline with the accelerator pedal.

Im not too worried about a malfunction because I have a manual, so worst case, it just revs really high? and I shut off the car. Nothing like the runaway prius incidents of a few years ago

Hey Disaster, I know this won't add power but my main question is if it does in fact change the characteristics of the acceleration? I hate how our manual cars feel like we have a burnt clutch and seriously lacking on acceleration from a full stop. So I'm more for the sport side. Does the I Throttle really liven it up? Thank you.

I would say it definitely does.

It does, but I would watch out. Mine stopped working earlier this year. I called Weapon-R, and they said they couldnt help me. I had pulled out into traffic and tried to give it gas, the pedal was completely mushy and I had no pickup. luckily I had enough momentum to roll into the bike lane and disconnect the thing. If this happened when I was turning in front of traffic, I would have been toast. Lasted just over a year.

Its scary enough driving by wire, and not having a physical linkage, but putting a 3rd party chinese manufactured piece in between the drive by wire is too crazy

No problem. That being said, it did help on shifting a ton. Just not worth the tradeoff of it failing at the wrong time

Crap. I wish there was a way for us to just use a throttle cable. I'll try and talk to some fab guys and see what I can find out. Might take some time though. So if anyone else is up to the task as well. I would greatly appreciate it.

Anybody have more input or info on this? Hey Disaster you ever try using the I Throttle again after the complications you posted about? Any feed back would be appreciated. Thank you.

Naa, it's still back in the box. You can buy it off me if you want to give it a shot haha. 20 bucks plus shipping (not a bad deal as the cable itself cost more than that)
