Default Whats up with the black trim on the front pillars

Dam you Toyota/Scion.. I just noticed as I have only seen in my area the dark grey colour of the tc and yesterday I went to another local dealer hoping to see if they have a silver colour which I am interested in, and low and behold they had one and I just noticed that black cheap looking cover along the front window pillars..

Missing engine cover, cheap looking body trim.. whats next

It's said that the car was designed to look like a helmet. Hence, the windows being the visor.

"Overall, the new 2011 Scion tC is bolder and more aggressive looking [outside], with a helmet-inspired cabin shape" @ Toyota Connections

"To that end, they’ve created a “helmet visor” roof by blacking out the sides of the windshield frame and the separator between the front and rear side glass, also known as the A and B pillars. The new tC’s profile now looks like a helmet, and is decidedly more masculine, although I find it to be a bit polarizing, as it’s taken some time to grow on me." @ Road Reality

I think it looks pretty good...

The headliner and both sunroof visor/blinds are black also. My local dealer got some gen2 tc's in and was able to check them out in person. The car overall felt very dark inside and didn't feel as open as the gen1. Almost every trim is black in the car and it's also a lot more plasticy compared to the gen1.

The cement color however, looks quite nice in person.

I don't think you'll like option 2, get the car in Black. That would be my color choice.

its not like the xB2s though, cause when you peel off the vinyl you have continuous paint going from the fender and up the A pillar, with how they designed the tC2, theres black plastic at the bottom of the A pillar, so you end up with painted fender, black plastic, painted A pillar.
it breaks it up and sticks out annoyingly IMO.

The black is actually painted. I knew I made a good decision. *pat on the back

As for the interior. I always though the two tone black/beige interior in my 07 was fugly. I like the all black interior and at least the dash on the tC2 doesn't have ripples in the plastic which always seemed to hold all the armour all I applied.
