Default ZeroEyeQueue-Old thread, but not dead.

Decided to make a build thread. I don't want to keep posting stuff in the Forced Induction threads if I keep adding stuff that aren't turbo related.

So, yadda yadda yadda:

Picked up March 10th, 2011 (Stock):

TWM Short Shifter Kit, and Cable Bushings came in and installed. Most people have the kit on here, so I'll leave the pics out. But, a few days later 1/2 the Descendant Bolt-On and Go Turbo kit came in:

I hate you so much, but more pics please as the parts come in so I can wistfully dream of modding my ride.

Any ideas on where you plan to put the gauges?

I'll be biting GReddy's style methinks. They installed their A/F Monitor to the left of the radio. There's a small space between that and the gauge cluster, and its just enough room for the gauge to fit (still being close enough to attach the harness to the AEM FIC).

I can see that, I'll have to look at it on the ride home to see how much of a heads-up it is or if it's to low, but it could work. I just wish the top of the dash had some nice areas to work with, it's so flat any gauges would seem out of place without a fab'd housing on there.

It is too low, unfortunately. The steering wheel blocks a portion of the gauge almost no matter where its mounted. The gauge will mostly be used for tuning so I'll be looking at it during a dyno (I doubt I will do any street pulls) tune. I suppose I could get some universal gauge housing for on top of the dash. Nothing is set in stone yet. But, once I do drill into the plastic, it will be. :3

My only other thought, and possibly something easier to fabricate, would be to get into the dash and see how possible it would be to shut down the center left vent (maybe reroute it into the center right) and make a plate to fit that vent area....

Just brainstorming while the last few mins of work tick by. May do more while sitting in the hour+ of traffic. *grr*

Thanks! Kareem said the rest of the kit will be in either by the end of this week or early next week. I scheduled a weekend for me and my mechanic friend to get going on this. Its going in memorial day weekend: prep work on Friday, work all day Saturday, and finishing out stuff in the morning on Sunday. It shouldn't take more than a day to get everything running, but I'm going to spread it out over the weekend to be thorough.

That's not a bad idea. I'll need some room for other monitors, so rerouting the vent might be a good idea to fit more gauges.

hey, when you added the springs did you get them done at your dealer?

If so, did you just pay the $399 for parts and install like quoted on the Scion site?

Yeah. It's part of the Pure Pricing. The only parts you can cut deals on are the tires that come on the stock wheels or the TRD wheels.

At first I thought you got the metallic grey because that's what it looked like in the pics then the newer pictures it looked blue! I thought I was going crazy!!

No more phone pix pls!

All that gear in such little time is pretty impressive too!

Actually, the only phone pics are the ones of the parts. The pics of the cars were taken by my girlfriend's Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1. I'm not really sure on how to work the settings (I've never tried), which might account for the differences in shading (also stuff like time of day, indoors/outdoors and cloudy weather).

Yeah, its a lot in a short time. I'll be in debt for a while methinks. Just have to make sure that installs go smoothly, 'else I'll be the first blown up tC2.

Hah if you're not using savings then that may just happen

I had debt with camera equipment but thankfully that's paid off and I am trying to refrain myself from debt again with this car!

Hehe. I'm not in debt just yet as I was mostly talking about future add ons (TEIN SSD-p's, EDFC System, and a handful of monitors like a boost gauge etc., not to mention Dyno time, which is far from cheap).

I had an STi for about 5 years. I've been parting out aftermarket leftovers acquired throughout those 5 years. Most of the kit was paid for by two of the latest Nvidia video cards, a full titanium Magnaflow catback exhaust, a set of HKS Coilovers, two Sparco seats (which were used for all of 3 days T_T), a Turbo XS UTEC, and a set of the Gold OEM STi wheels.

I guess I kept them thinking I'd get a new STi, but I'm too much of a fan of my old '05 body style.
