Default DIY TRD Spring install problem Help!

I installed my TRD springs today. Took it for a quick test drive. When I hit a larger bump, there is a metal tapping noise coming from the right rear. I clocked the spring on both sides so that the cut end of the spring at the bottom of the coil is facing the tire like the instructions said. The noise sounds like metal on metal but everything looks OK. If you have TRD springs, please take a look. Does it look like this? It almost looks to me as if the second coil may be binding up on the first one. It doesn't look like the coils are lining up perfectly. Any ideas? This is going to drive me crazy.

I have the 2nd gen xb and IQ and installed the trd springs also. There should be a rubber like cap at the top of each spring. I don't see that on yours. Maybe it's different for the tc but wouldn't hurt to check. Good luck.

There should be a rubber coupelet that goes on top of the spring when you take out your stock springs for the rear.

The rubber is on the top of the spring. It doesn't look like it in the picture though.

Maybe you can get some of those rubber sleeve things that go on the coils to prevent from hitting each other

I had that same problem, and I fixed it but can't tell what did it. It could be the spring position, which I played with it for a while. I also noticed on mine, that the link kit was twisted from when I torqued it, it could have been that or some other untorqued screw there. If it doesn't work out, keep playing with the position of the spring
