Default Trd lowering springs?

In looking into lowering springs but idk if I should get Trd installed at my dealership or other springs installed at my families shop. If I were to get the springs installed at my shop would it do anything to the warranty?

Just do it through your fam's shop. If anything happens to your car and the dealership can prove that it was because of the springs, then you have to pay for repairs. But if installed right the TRD's wont give you any problems. I have TRD's now and now wish I went with lower springs

I'm getting it done this week. People say its not necessary but I'm just doing it for peace in mind.

You should absolutely have your car aligned after any suspension work. A fraction of an inch equals big money in tires. Our Toyo's are $280 a piece.

An alignment is recommended but not required. I dropped mine on Eibach Sportlines two years ago and never got an alignment. Still rolling on my OE Toyos (~56k miles). I get my rotations every 5k miles like I should and my tires are all wearing evenly.

BTW you'd be a fool to pay $280 for the stock Toyos. I needed to replace one of my OE Toyos a few months back after a nasty puncture. Purchased a brand new one for $135 from this eBay seller:

Got it mounted and balanced at my local Toyota dealer for $15.

Ahh ok ok.

Well just make sure you get those stock tires off asap so you can at least sell them when you buy your new ones. Or just wait until you actually need new tires and save the money.

That makes you one hell of a bargain shopper. Tire rack disagrees.

Yeah, I figured you pulled that number from Tire Rack. But yes, if you click the link I posted...you'll see what these tires can really be had for. Only speaking from personal experience since I needed to purchase a new OE Toyo tire myself.

By "takeoff" do they mean when it was unmounted from the dealer wheels? If so I can see why there would be a price drop. People can be picky with tires.

You're absolutely correct. They were taken off of factory wheels that were never mounted to a car. The tire I received was completely clean and looked to be brand spaking new. It's been good to me for the past several months with A LOT of highway miles.

But you're right, people can be picky. But it's such a large price difference, I can't see how someone could be THAT picky. Especially considering the condition the tire was in. That seller has over 5000 feedback @ 100% too, so they obviously aren't playing any games with quality.

Good to know. I appreciate the money saving advice for the future.

Im leasing my tc (jst got it). talked to a guy from service dep today and he told me that, I can drop on any springs and do it wherever I want. As long as I dont touch the engine, Im good. and if after lease I will not keep the car, jst put stock springs up and im good.

my 5 cents.
