The plasti dip will make everything the same color but will still show the texture. You're call on how bad the road rash is...

You obviously haven’t taken your car to the limit…because you have never gone over the limit and kissed a curb or gone dirt-tracking of the side of the road. Start using your car, queer.

Yeah, it will still show the rash...
I say, sand it as good as possible... color it up, and don't mention it to anybody...
hopefully they don't notice :p
Pics are always welcome... even it its only to make me say, 'Damn! Im'a have to make sure I don't do that!'

To restore as much of the strength of the aluminum as possible, you have to polish out all the scratches before you finish the wheel. Scratches are stress concentration points in metals. You have lost material already, just polish and smooth it out.

While fresh plastidip on rims will look awesome, the curb rash will still show. That and if you do manage to rub some curb again, it peels VERY easily. I did the trim on my 4runner before I traded it in. It lasted about 2 months and it started peeling, and I put a hard satin clear over it. Plastidip is a great product, but its hard to maintain.
I suggest keeping the rims the stock color because I love it to death. You can try to smooth out the scratches as much as possible with sand paper, starting with very coarse and moving down to very fine. 3m professional wet/dry sandpaper (purple color) is great. then hit the part you sanded with the OEM paint.

both are my back rims, first photo happened the day i got the car, and the 2nd photo a week later... i was so ____ed

just totally different handling from my 03 eclipse i had which has the worst turning radius ever, then get the tC which makes these short tight turns (compared to the eclipse) and parking becomes my enemy

i wish it was done while "taking my car to the limit" as 2tcornot2tc said

:edit:

think that would work on repairin mine?
