Default What winter tires to use for our rims?

I ordered 2013 scion tc with 18 stock rims, called to Costco muffler city etc no one has studs for this size wheels.

They said they had something like blizzek or something like I dont remember anyway what are good winter tires to use?.. I really wanted studs but if cant what's next best?. Anything from Costco worth looking at?

I like Costco for their 5 year warranties
Etc.

studs? pretty sure they are illegal in most states.
i rock mich ICE-X, your refering to the bridgestone blizzacks. both great winter tires.

not sure about cosco and snows for the 18s, but i have michelin x-ice xi2 on 16" steel rims and i love them. never had an issue so far and the traction is excellent just like the tread wear. they also have a 40,000 mile warranty from michelin which was why i chose them over the blizzaks (bridgestone). between the blizzaks and the michelin, i would say those are the best snow tires on the market. the michelins ride so smooth as well when there is no snow. i will only buy michelin or blizzaks for snow tires, they are practically the same, so its kind of like a ford and chevy argument. i hope this helps guide you in a certain dirrection... oh and i just remembered, look into firestone's winter force or general tire because if i remember correctly they are designed to have studs added

Thanks for the post, I'm definately going to look into all of those. Appreciate it. They Said the tread depth on the 18s are to low to have studs in

I was actually looking for Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires, but they were not available in that size at that time…but these Michelins work just as good and the tire guys at Costco are great. I don't remember how much I paid...it was almost 2 years ago. I took delivery of the car in November of 2010 and that was my first purchase/mod…well second, after the mud flaps.

There is a reason why they are selling them off cheap...you get what you pay for. I'd go with these http://www.tiresbyweb.com/p-8972-nok...a-r-tires.aspx

So my order with the Ws70's never came from costco, so to fix the problem they gave me a full set of X-Ice3 for 700 bucks for our rims. I am content, just waiting. Anyone ever used them?
