Default Where to Place the Jack?

I know this is a super NOOB question but I've never ever had to jack a car up. [ HELP NEEDED, I want to Plasti Dip!]

I looked at the manual and it's badly illustrated. Any help with pictures would be greatly appreciated.

There are arrows on the side skirts that indicate where to place the Jack.

There is a pinch weld under the car that's where you place the end of it.

^^ Look for the arrow and the inner metal weld ... BUT I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT.. you sound like you have no idea what you are doing.

Lifting a car is a big hazard because if incorrectly done, you can get heavily injured. Listen or not, it is up to you.

Here's an old trick to remember: if you're going to jack a car up, follow these rules:

1. Did you block the wheels?
Blocking the wheels with a brick or something to prevent it from rolling is a must! It doesn't happen often, but if you're careless, yes, your car WILL roll off the jack. And if the wheel is off the car, that will seriously destroy your axle.

2. Are you lifting the car by a metal point?
You should ONLY jack a car up using the metal chassis, the strongest point of the car. If you're not sure if what you're about to use as a jack point isn't metal, smack it with a screwdriver or something metallic and listen for that ping sound. It's unmistakeable. NEVER jack a car up by lifting it using the transmission, etc. Always use the metal chassis.

And yes, always use jack stands. If you don't have these, go to Wal-mart and buy them for $20. Yes, you can get a good pair for that cheap. Best be safe, and good luck bro.

i just found the arrows. The underside was too dirty to see em. It looks like they are pointing to the metal but its covered by the plastic side skirt. will it break when i jack it up?

Do you have any friends that can swing by to help you? otherwise, the best thing is to take a picture of the underside and post it. Then I will circle where to jack it up at.

I do know, from doing my springs, that the manual was of no, or very little, help. I had a few minutes of head-scratching as well when placing the jacks. lol.
Thanks owner's manual!

I would get a friend to help you. Ideally, you want 4 jack stands so you can paint all 4 wheels at once. Catch with that is you change how the car sits on the stands when you jack up the other side and the tC2 doesn't have what I would consider great jack and jack stand points.

I got lazy when I did my rear springs and almost dropped the rear of the car on the brake discs. Stupid mistake on my part and i was blessed to have the car slip on the stand instead of fall off but it sure upped my pucker factor.

I'll be doing one wheel at the time due to time restrictions and restriction imposed by the Apt Complex.

Place your Jack Stands pretty much as Shown.

** Warning: Always use Jack Stands as Shown. Whether using a OEM Scissors or Low Profile Floor Jack.

Failure to Do So can Result in Serious Personal Injury!

I just had to recently replace the front driver side tire with the included car jack and spare on a 2008 Scion tc. Here is a photo for reference of where to place the jack. Notice it is directly between those two notches. I used one hand to guide it on there making sure it was evenly between the notches, while screwing up the jack with the other hand. The spare had no air, and was rated for 60 psi so just remember to check your spares and fill them up.
