Question Winter Rim help..

Hey All,

I need a bit of help, there may have already been a post on this but I am looking for rims that I can use in the winter. I found these on CARiD.com

Unless there are steelies that you can use on the 2015 Scion tC RS 9.

Here are the ones i am looking at, they are 17s while I currently am using my 18s for summer.

https://www.carid.com/oe-wheels/17-r...eid=1120643047

I figured I would ask the Scion masters here before contacting CARiD directly. Any helpful pointers are appreciated.

Thanks!!

I wouldn't run those, they would be sunk even more into the car than stock and I'm not sure how much inner clearance there is. Those are also way expensive for wheels to use in just the winter. 17's are fine for snow with that width,
but try to find something closer to 35 offset, instead of 45 (stock is 39). Also be aware that Non-OEM wheels might need new lugs as Toyota uses a mag-set lug and most aftermarket wheels are acorn.

Thank you,

That is why I asked because i do not know much about the wheel diameter and measurements.

I appreciate it. I will see what else I can find.

Yeah I am looking to stay with 17s for snow.

Np. For snow wheels you generally want to stay on the higher offsets just to help prevent snow and rocks and crap from getting flung all over the sides of your car as much as possible. Stock specs are 18x7.5 +39, so something close to that without going to a higher +offset will be ideal. Also our hub bore is 60.1mm so you if you go aftermarket wheels you'll want to grab some hubcentric rings as well to keep the wheel centered on the axles. For those I prefer metal ones and I just give them a good coating of anti-seize.
